The last 2 holidays we have had at Pontins Prestatyn have been very nice. On arrival there have been clean sheets that to be honest look as though they have just been removed from the pack, the oven, fridge and sink have been spotless as have the cups, plates, cutlery, cooking items etc.
The sofa bed was uncomfortable for hubby on both ocassions but we improvised, the floors were clean and the bathrooms though very basic were also clean.
I would say that the people who have had bad experiences have just been very unlucky, we stayed at a Haven site a few years ago and it was horrible, the childrens bedrooms and bedding on arrival were damp, the double bed we had was stained and even the carpet was damp too.
There are good and bad everywhere but for us Prestatyn has been a lovely nostalgic experience every time (we are also big On The Buses Fans lol)
I also read all the reviews here and went prepared with cleaning products and our own bedding. None of which was needed at any point.0 -
re Scarborough travelodge- it is sort of right on the seafront, but about 200 feet above it on the clifftop....take plenty of money for the cliff lift or be prepared for the hill walk home!
Great place though. Hope you get a sea view.0 -
Lol at a lot of these comments, I have been to Pontins every year at Hemsby for the last 20 years and have never had anything like this and quite often we were in budget accomodation!!!!
The worst I can honestly say about Pontin's is that they once put me in a chalet that hadn't been valeted, so I went to reception and they moved us to another chalet with an aqpology!
Unfortunately Hemsby is closed now so I only took short breaks at Pontins, Pakefield Lowestoft but the break I had just over a week ago the chalet was the cleanest I have seen for a holiday camp(and I have been to other companies).
Can I just ask, if you have a problem do you go to reception to resolve it????

Going to pontins is like going to Stalag Luft III!
if you are in any doubt as to what they are like. Get a postcode & go onto windows live maps and select birds eye view!
The only decision you need to make is whether to use tunnels tom, !!!!!! or Harry!
sorry, but its 1st hand experience. book sun hols at HAVEN or Park dean0 -
Jesus what a load of moaning people you are, its all right saying book elsewhere but where else can you get a break for £5 ?
Some people will be glad to get away for a few days, and alot of people cant afford a holiday.
They are meant to be refurbishing Pontins , not sure when it starts tho and when thats complete i guess thats the end of the mega cheap holidays, they are obviously struggling year after year to give away breaks like they have been doing.

if any of you are planning on booking at camber i wouldnt book the weekend of 23rd oct as there is a massive dance festival on and from experience there is never anything to do on site over the weekend we are all there
i have stayed in classic and club and dont really see any difference apart from last year we must of put £20 on our electric over the weekend in classic(it was freezing so had the heating on). i think the chalets are acceptable, and if yours isnt they normally move you or change whatever the problem is if you ask
we also go to brean sands for dancing in april too and in comparison that is a much better site, alot more on site activitys and a bit cleaner too0
