£179 for an elite with game & HDMI

    Good price.

Just to add that the Arcade and Premium also have HDMI ports now, but only the Elite comes with an HDMI cable.

Aah, OK. You saying they only provide a composite cable now, therefore providing no out the box HD capability?

    Not good.:naughty:

yup afraid so,though i can kinda see the point of not including both and dropping composite but surely an HDMI should be the norm

Given that they dropped the price of it by £30, and you can buy an HDMI cable for £5, it's not such a big deal.

yeah i know its not but for consoles IMO they should be more open the box and everythings there IYKWIM
to M$ an HDMI cable is going to cost very little.
dont get me started on the cost of the wifi adapter ;)

They've sold 31 million consoles; if every one of them came with an HDMI cable, that's a lot of money, even if they only cost Microsoft 50p each.

Gotta pay for all those RROD failures somehow. ;)

And yes, the wifi adapter is over-priced, even at the £42 discount price you can get it on Amazon for.

True, true. But when you're trying to save money on something that sells millions of units, every penny helps.

ive got 2 360's (1 premium,1 elite) and ive yet to have a RROD

I haven't had any problems with mine either, and most people don't (I have a Jasper, so fingers crossed).

But the Xbox 360 still has a startling high failure rate. Even if you exclude RROD problems, it still fails more often than the PS3 and Wii.
