Best HTC Hero Deals

I gave orange a call, and they offered me the phone for free on the £40 a month plan with unlimited internet, reduced by £10 a month to £30. I was about to go for it when I asked about the length of the contract, and found out it was 24 month. That just seems too long for me. None of their 18 month deals worked out for me. I just wish O2 were prepared to negotiate on the Galaxy, as it seems that retentions are the only way to get a decent deal.0

How many minutes and txts are you after?0 -
Around 100 texts and 300 mins would be fine. I just need Internet included.0

If its just the internet your after, theres a few deals around. These are the ones on T-mobile from the site buymobilephones
1.) 79.99 quid for the phone, 100 mins, 100 txts, unlimited internet for 19.57 a month.or
2.) 19.99 quid for the phone, 200 mins, 200 txts, unlimited internet for 24.46 a month or
3.) Free Hero, 300 mins, 300 txts, unlimited internet for 29.36 plus 40 pounds automatic cash back.
I've also seen a deal on phones4u, Free Hero with 600 mins, 3000 txts for £25.00 a month. This deal doesnt come with internet included, but I think you can add that on seperately for about 5 pounds a month. So once you add the internet on this, it will be 30 pounds a month on a 18 month contract, which is pretty good.
The deal i got was the one with T-mobile, 700 mins, unlimited txts, unlimited internet and 110 automatic cashback for 34.25, which once you take account of the 110 cashback, works out a bit better.
Just remember with orange internet its fair use policy is 500mb, with the t-mobile deals its 3GB.

All these deals are 18 months.0 -
That first phones4u deal looks good. Does anyone know if the contract is with them or the network? I can't find confirmation on whether you can add internet for £5.
I'm not sure about buymobilephones. I'd feel safer buying from a network, or at least a company with high street presence.
The reason I haven't really considered T-mobile is that I believe their coverage isn't that great. How has anyone with a hero on T-mobile found it to be?
Cheers for all the help guys.0 -
Hi all
I'm looking to move away from O2 after they priced the samsung galaxy ludicrously (£35 a month, £98 for the phone), and retentions refused to discount it at all. I'm looking at the HTC Hero as an alternative, so I am trying to find the best deal I can. If possible I'd like to go direct to a network rather than go through a middleman (eg carphone warehouse). I need unlimited internet, but i'm not all that bothered about minutes/texts, and if possible i'm after a 18 month contract. Has anyone managed to negotiate a deal like this? Is it even possible to haggle as a new customer?
Any advice much appreciated.
Unfortunately they are middlemen but I got 500 texts 100 minutes and unlimited internet on an 18 month Vodafone contract with a free hero using mobile phones direct0 -
That sounds interesting laurajmc. Does that include internet? Can you tell me where you found that?
Hi
Yes it includes unlimited (fair useage) internet plus 600 mins and unlimited texts. I will be paying 15 months x £20, £35 per month thereafter but can upgrade/renew at 16 months.
and I was with o2 so not a retention, just rang Vodafone CS and said my friend had this deal - told them what i was after and they said 'no problem'
i don't know what they would be prepared to do on the hero but its worth asking?

Ahh, sorry about the assumption!
No wonder you were feeling a bit perplexed when I was telling you to get the 400 minutes deal for less than 20 quid, LOL!
That's a smashing deal for a new connection.Try to imagine nothing ever existed...0 -
Cheers laura. Sadly I don't think vodaphone do the hero direct. I kind of have my heart set on one, but that is such a good deal on a magic I might have to reconsider. Perhaps I will give orange one more try and quote some of these deals at them, but otherwise I might try my luck to match your deal with vodaphone.0
