Best HTC Hero Deals

Hi all

I'm looking to move away from O2 after they priced the samsung galaxy ludicrously (£35 a month, £98 for the phone), and retentions refused to discount it at all. I'm looking at the HTC Hero as an alternative, so I am trying to find the best deal I can. If possible I'd like to go direct to a network rather than go through a middleman (eg carphone warehouse). I need unlimited internet, but i'm not all that bothered about minutes/texts, and if possible i'm after a 18 month contract. Has anyone managed to negotiate a deal like this? Is it even possible to haggle as a new customer?

Any advice much appreciated.

Best deal is with Dialaphone. You won't experience any problems with them, and should you need to exchange the handset, they won't object.

They are offering on an 18month contract a free Graphite Hero on Dolphin 45, 1200 minutes, unlimited texts, unlimited internet plus Magic Numbers at £35 a month (down from £45), so all you pay to orange s £35/m. On top of that, they are offering through rebate £105 pound off, as well as £50 quidco. (potentially less than £27/m)

So even if you don't get the rebate successfully, you are still 180 pound better off compared to getting direct from Orange.

IF you really only want to go direct, go with T-mobile, they are offering a free black Hero (G2 Touch) with 800 minutes and Unlimited internet (3GB fair usage compared to Oranges 500MB) for £36.50.

Cheers for that. Ideally I wouldl like to try and get line rental down to £25-£30. I'm prepared to take a hit to minutes/texts to achieve this. Also, if I ring Orange and quote one of these deals is there any chance of them matching/beating them?

I was also looking at the Hero but couldn't find it for less than £30 p/m (inclusive of cashback and with dialaphone) so have just ordered the Magic for £20 p/m with Vodafone. Its being delivered tomorrow :j

Definitely worth ringing them direct but recommend you get your PAC from O2 first - mine came through within 1 hr.

You could try as there is no harm, but from experience, they are unlikely to offer you anything like dialaphone's deal or better UNLESS it is a retention offer.

I think she got it as an upgrade to her existing contract, and therefore through retentions.

Theres a few good deals on buymobilephones for the HTC Hero (T-mobile G2).

I nabbed myself a free hero with 700 mins, unlimited texts, unlimited internet (3GB) for 34.25 per month plus 110 instant cashback. I would have gone with that orange deal listed above, but im bad with redemptions (always forget and too much hassle), plus dont need that many minutes.

Other deals i saw are.

79.99 quid for the phone, 100 mins, 100 txts, unlimited internet for 19.57 a month.or
19.99 quid for the phone, 200 mins, 200 txts, unlimited internet for 24.46 a month.

They just came back into stock a few days ago. The got a few other deals too, so worth a look. One good thing is that the unlimited internet usage limit is 3GB compared to oranges 500mb. Oh yea, and the deal i got and the ones listed above are 18 months

the deals sound good to me as I am not a heavy user in terms of minutes/texts. Which cashback site did you use to get £110 back?

Mobiles.co.uk have it at £30pm for 1200 mins, unlimited texts, 500mb data with either 9 months half price (redemption) or £40 auto cashback. Also get £40 Quidco and there is a code for a free bluetooth headset (24 month contract). If anything happens to phone you can go to Carphonewarehouse shop to get fixed etc.

The cash back was from the actual site buymobilephones.net its part of the deal. Its automatic after 90 days, so no need for making any claims, £110 goes straight into my accout at that date.

I also went through quidco for an extra 20 quid.
