Am going to cancel my Amex blue card.
Even if it was an error, they ought to honour it from a PR point of view, or at least bend over backwards to compensate in some way (ie. not just waiving the 2% BT fee)
Just been paid my annual cashback anyway, so ya boo sucks to them:D :p

Well, That really cheeses me off! I got the letter too, filled out the form and sent a photocopy of the letter back, just in case.

I expect them to honour it. I mean this is not some little mistake of a number typo there, it is a massive mistake! I for one if I do not get joy will inform the FSA on them for crap like that.

Also the comment they are not going to process the slips sent back for the BT. I mean really who do they think they are?

Now heading over to the other board looking for ways to cut back on my outgongs to pay off all my CC's.

Anyone else got this offer and got "refused"?

Or offered a freebie of sorts?

They have made a written offer which, if accepted, will form a binding contract which is capable of enforcement in the English courts. For those of you who have the letter, you have them over a barrel and I would bring pressure to bear upon them.
  • Second thread on this here - Surely they have to honour the offer?

Given that all BT offers are conditional on approval and that AMEX can pretty much set any approval criteria they want, the fact that are offering 0% for 6 months without a fee in compensation seems pretty reasonable.

Not sure where legal action would get you...until the balance transfer actually occurs, there's no 'agreement' between AMEX and the customer...

Another bump, this sounds like just the sort of thing Martin would be interested in.
