I'm pleased to say I passed the medical and was deemed fit for work - lady who did medical wasn't sure whether or not to put restrictions or not but I convinced her I'd been doing a similar job already without problems. What a relief as I'm not sure what would have happened if I hadn't passed.

Met a friend and had lunch afterwards which was very nice but not very MSE but I bought a big new calculator from the pound shop ready to do some number crunching in readiness for the new wage - whatever that may be!!

what a relief! Glad you got through that ok! I think the lunch was well deserved too! MSE has to be a balance between celebrating life and living within your means....

I start on 6th - I'm looking forward to it but I know will miss some of the people I've worked with for the last 8 years.

It will be a new challenge workwise. I'm quite pleased to have passed the medical and to be able to put all the 'mental garbage' that went along with having had a year off ill. Many of my old workmates were there when I was so ill and helped me tremendously getting back on my feet and back into work.... I was grateful for it at the time.... but in the nicest possible way - if I'm just 'tired' - they still cluck like bloomin' Mother Hens. I do know they did it with the best intentions but it will be nice to go in work fresh and new without feeling I HAVE to prove myself medically IYKWIM.

I have decided to pay off a loan due to finish next June. I have transferred my cc's to a new 0% card for 16 months and will get a final total of what I owe on Tuesday once everything has gone through. That will mean I don't have to pay £195 a month on the loan and can pay the 0% as quickly as I can. SOooooo I'm hoping to be df by next summer.

The new challenge sounds just what you need, and I fully agree with your reasons for making the change - it seems just right for you at this point in time.

The money stuff is looking fine too. :T

Met some friends from work at friends house for lunch - think it's just hit me I won't be going back to work with them......ooohhhh what have I done?????????? But new job still has to be an easier option for me long term and I can still see friends.

Went to docs to pick up prescription this morning - doc wanted to see me and check bp etc. so far so good. When I came back I tried to pay balance transfer but kept getting cut off - will try again later.

Tomorrow I am going to look after a boy I used to work with should be interesting as he is now 14 and nearly 6 ft tall. He has autism but I'm assured he will sit at his computer most of the time - I'm hoping this is right as he is much taller than me now LOL but mum sounded desperate when she phoned me.
