Waited in ALL day for a lady from work who said she was calling round - NOT impressed at all. a bit worried as I can't get hold of her either - hopefully she has had a bette offer but could have let me know.

I did nip out at about 10 this morning but only for 20 minutes to Morrisons and I had my phone with me. You watch she'll turn up as I'm doing tea - and I've kept everything tidy LOL - must be a first.

Never mind gave me a lovely lazy day.

I've been busy decluttering but you've reminded me that I really have let the cleaning slip! I'll have to do flylady next week to catch up!

Taxi - so good to see you on here - but take care and don't overstretch yourself at this point in your treatment. Will search you out - you are of course welcome but only if you feel up to it :)

Jellie know what you mean about the cleaning I have been trying to catch up with myself during the school holidays.

I have just made a batch of salmon and brocolli fishcakes for the freezer - very tasty too.

Hopefully will do something nice tonight - might have to be La Tasca with a 50% off voucher as it is our wedding anniversary today - 32 years. YES - I was a child bride LOL LOL LOL (well 19 - and I didn't feel young at all, but when a see a 19 year old now - I can't quite believe how young I was!!)

I think your plan of deep cleaning a room at a time is a good one. That's why I try and join in with flylady once in a while to get the incentive to do it all properly!

Can I have your fishcakes recipe? Sound lovely!!

Jellie - fishcake recipe is a bit of 'whatever I have' but usually something like....

    Piece of salmon
    brocolli (frozen or fresh)
cooked leftover potato (mashed or boiled)
    milk
    flour
    butter
    sometimes onion
    sometimes grated cheese
    beaten egg and breadcrumbs

Basically I cover salmon, brocolli and onion (cut small) in milk and poach until cooked - a few minutes.
mix flour and butter to paste in a small dish (approx a spoonful of each) - add to salmon and brocolli and stir until makes a thickish sauce - can add more if needed.

Allow to cool then mix in potato and cheese - if using.

Once properly cold - mix with hand and shape into fish cakes - dip into flour then egg then breadcrumbs.

Chill in fridge then wrap individually and freeze.

Shallow fry or spray with oil and oven bake when ready to eat - make sure thoroughly heated!!!!

I never use exact quantities as it is always 'whatever I have to hand'

Same principle can be used for

chicken and asparagus, chicken and mushroom patties. Add herbs and spices to taste. Experiment and enjoy!!

Had a lovely meal out last night - we went to a Turkish restaurant - but early bird deal so still MSE!!

Met a couple of friends I used to work with years ago today for lunch - I was still feeling very full from last night so just had a sandwich - bet the staff in cafe loved us as we'd sat in there 3 hours gabbing!!!!! - but there were plenty of spare tables so didn't feel too bad LOL The friend I met has inherited a cottage on Angelsey so we have arranged a 'girlie' weekend there for either mid September or early October. So that's something to look foreward to. We will provide the food and drinks between us and have some walks along the beach - so should be a cheap weekend.

DH working tomorrow so he can have Friday off as we are travelling down to London to visit dd for the weekend. I could get used to this lifestyle - a lady wot lunches and no work - pity it's not holiday every week - I would still need paying to fund the lifestyle of course.
