Thanks SH - I know I've made the right decision deep down - so many unnecessary niggles that add to stress of working there. Lots of emotive stuff in the move too - had a lot of hassle which resulted in me putting in a formal complaint about how my sick leave was handled several years ago - I HAD to go back and prove both to myself and to the bosses I was still fit enough to do the job and if and when I left it would be MY decision (YES a fair bit of bloody mindedness got me through!!) - the time is now right but I am surprised just how much of that agro it has brought back to me. I have to admit I am quietly pleased to be able to move on to another job having more than proved that I am capable of working with these challenging kids. The complaint was only ever about the system and not the people who did in fact get me through. Having realised what I've just written I realise I need to move to pastures new - that will be another bit of that time behind me. MMMMM - it has all gone much deeper into my being than I'd realised!!!!!
Off out somewhere now with dh - will go to wetherspoons or somewhere cheap and cheerful for food later.
Have a good Sunday.

Had a lovely day and very MSE - only bought 2 ice creams all day. We went to New Brighton - somewhere I haven't been since I was a kid - we walked along the banks of the Mersey and back again - there was plenty to take in watching a few boats and the Liverpool skyline - it was quite good to see the area being regenerated as I remembered it a VERY run down. We'd had a big breakfast before we went and neither of us were hungry enough to eat a meal out - we came home via Chester and were going to have a mooch around and maybe eat there - but my hip was giving me agro (we must have walked about 5 miles - hadn't realised HOW unfit I was) and I still wasn't that hungry so we came home and have just had steak and onion on Turkish flat bread - yum yum!!
SO a good day had by all for the petrol and £2.30 for ice cream as we listened to a brass band in the park and the sun brike through for a few minutes.

Sounds like a perfect MSE day...it's amazing what we can enjoy for free or virtually free with a bit of imagination.0

Well it's been quite a week. It has been an emotional roller coaster as various children have left nursery over the week - many parents were in floods of tears but I managed to hold it together - until the mum of a little one with special needs came to see me on Thursday - I've worked with the family for several years and her 3rd child is due to start in September (I was due to have the child and I've looked after both her others!!) - it was one weepy mum too much and I joined her (tears of joy because the child has come on so well - tears of sadness cos she is going to BIG school) - there were no children in on Friday just staff for the day and I was fine till the goodbyes at the end.... we have been through some really fun and some vey sad times with the kids there (several very poorly kids haven't made it) and it brings the staff very close - so it was a bit of a wrench to leave some I've worked with 8 years.
But I've done it now and its onwards and upwards from September - I had vouchers for a show or music event of my choice as a leaving present from everyone plus lots of bits of jewellery, wine and chocolate so I consider myslef very lucky.
Money wise I've been granted a new 0% cc in principle for 16 months - just waiting on credit checks to come through - but I have a slight concern that if they realise I'm in the process of changing jobs it might block it. Officially I am still employed by my old employer until September and when they asked employer details on the form which I did answer truthfully - I have been there 8 years but am leaving in 5 weeks and there wasn't a box for that scenario!! - do they actually get in touch with them does anyone know. I do have a new job to go to so paying won't be a problem - I'm just hedging my bets incase my wage is a lot less than now. I aim to put my existing 0% card on it and then do a bit of jiggery pokery and pay off my loan due to finish in May on old cc then transfer to the 0% - this will bring my monthly payments down (not worked out figures exactly yet - will phone round for exact amounts on Monday) - it will also mean I can keep the cash in the ISA which I've been saving to pay old 0% off for emergency use. I know Martin recommends paying off first but it is at 0% and I'll pay any over by the end of the term - I just need the security of some cash to fall back on - not something I've ever had before.
I can tell it is school holidays as it has chucked it down with rain here for the last couple of days!!
I can't believe how tired I've been today - couldn't stop yawning and nodded off this afternoon. All this saying goodbye is wearing me out.
Having another lazy day tomorrow and then on Monday onwards have got some SERIOUS housework to do - I'll have to do it too because a couple of girls from work are coming round on Wednesday - a great incentive!!
I've waffled on again haven't I

Hired a carpet cleaner today - so I have been very busy - cleaned all the carpets and they look nearly new again - not sure what possessed me to buy beige carpets. But they do come up good
All drawers and cupboards in living room sorted - glass tables thoroughly cleaned as are living room windows inside and out. Not sure whether I have actually tidied or just shifted clutter into piles in other rooms
So mega sort out of kitchen tomorrow including ironing pile that is slowly engulfing the room.:eek:
House should then be suitable for a couple of friends from work coming round on Wednesday - bedrooms need a sort but can shut the doors on them if they don't get done
£20 spent on carpet cleaner and £5 on cleaning fluid for it - but got enough fluid left for next time as I had some in - it was a whole lot cheaper than getting someone in to do them too. It could be classed as pretty MSE I suppose cos I saved cash by doing it myself
Looking forward to doing some crafty stuff this hol :T:T so trying to get all the boring stuff like cleaning out of the way this week;)

Been ironing best part of the day watching old films and catch up tv - but it is all done now. Everywhere tidy enough but I'll deep clean a room at a time over the hols - no intention of over doing it though.LOL.
Had a NSD today and still waiting to hear about the 0% cc.
