Been a bit of a week here - I GOT THE JOB - handed my notice in today. All a bit scary and exciting rolled into one. I've been there nearly 8 years - although I moan about the place - some of the people got me through some very hard times when I was ill a few years ago. I'll miss them but will definately not miss the agro and politics that go with it.

Pro rata - it is more cash but it'll only be 9-3 instead of 8.45-4.45. I'm hoping I'll come out somewhere near to what I'm getting now - I know I should have gone into all this at the interview - but my brain had gone to jelly by that stage and I couldn't think of ANYTHING other than answering the questions they fired at me. Oh well time will tell - I can try and get some holiday work if it doesn't pay enough. Plus it's only a contract for a year - they are hoping to get more funding - but that applies anywhere at present.

There will be 8 children up to 6 years old in the unit and 5 staff. OK they are all autistic but at present there is anything between 25-30 children where I work - 8 of those have SEN's some very severe disabilities including autism and there are 5 staff. So life should be a whole lot easier.

Just finished all my assignments - need to double check them tomorrow and then I can hand them in on Thursday and then do some relaxing and number crunching - which on reflection might be difficult to do cos I'm not sure how much I'll end up with!!

It will probably help a lot to work shorter days which definitely should be balance with any financial considerations... Massive congratulations to you :j:j:j:T:T:T:j:j:j

Spent today trying to tidy up since I've neglected it all recently doing job applications and college work etc. Got living room and lots of ironing done but didn't quite finish it all. I've stopped now though - done enough as I'm shattered. No intention of doing anything tomorrow other than chill or go out somewhere with dh. The rest of the housework will wait a week until I break up.

MSE not done too well of late - and I still want to buy a couple of little pressies for a couple of ladies at work - they have supported me through a few tough years. Plus I've had a couple of meals out with friends and will be going out again on Thursday night. I'm very tempted to put the remaining cc amoount I was hoping to pay off over the next couple of months onto a 0% card (0% runs out next month on old card - have got some saved to put to it) - just till I find out about the new wages. It is about £1,500 and I've been offered a 0% till August 2011 - if I set up a standing order for £100 a month which will be managable - it will be taken care off without overstretching and leave me the bit I've saved up as reserve. My loan finishes in May which is £200 a month - then IF the wage is less than I expect I'm more than covered and won't be tempted to use a cc card with interest charges. Will think about it and number crunch some more and decide what to do...mmmmm - had planned on having it paid before September but that will leave me in the red and nothing in reserve - not a good place to be if I might be taking a pay cut of sorts - should have gone into all this at the interview - school I'll be going to has broken up now though so can't do much about it till I get paid mid September and see what it all levels out to.

SORRY - I've had a mega ramble haven't I LOL. Roll on Friday.

AAAAHHHHHH - have just posted a long post and don't know where it is now - but it sure aint here!!!!!!

Basically I'd waffled - thanks for good wishes about job - it is a good time to change jobs as all my group of children are moving on to school. There's often a couple of kids staying but none of mine this year. I feel a bit bad as a couple of families of SEN kids should have had siblings coming to me - but they'll soon get used to new staff - we have been through a fair bit together though. Plus there are 4 other members of staff leaving and a lot of changes are planned - so I might as well have changes in a completely new place.

MSE I have done absolute RUBBISH recently - ate out lots bought sandwiches at dinnertime, and generally wasted cash left right and centre. I have had an offer of a 0% cc until August 2011 - I'm very tempted to transfer my current 0% which runs out at end of August - I've saved about 3/4 of it and had planned paying the rest over the next couple of months - but this will use my overdraft and leave me with no back up whatsoever. I'll be happier when I know exactly what my wage will be and whether I've taken a big drop or not - I could kick myself not asking in the interview but I'd gone brain dead by then. I know it will extend my df date but for peace of mind in this new stage of my life it is VERY tempting. If I do - I'll pay £100 a month by dd and then the last £200 after I've paid off my loan in May next year and not touch the money I've saved which is now £1000 - I've NEVER had that much in the bank before and it would be ONLY for emergency use. If I take on the cc now and cancel all my others including my reward card I should be ok. The peace of mind might be worth it and if I find out the wage works out as much as I get now - I'll just pay it off quickly again.mmmmmmmmmm decisions. In retrospect I might have been better staying where I was for the next year till I'd paid off the loan and cc's but jobs like this don't come along very often even if I do take a drop in wage I'll be working 2 hours less a day and there SHOULDN'T be too much difference in cash if my rough calculations are right - just having a mild panic me thinks LOL
