Cos some people love their kids so much they will do (almost) anything for them.
Not always a sign of weakness0 -
Only if the spoilt brat pays back every single penny and the Samsung Tocco is sold to help pay off the debt. If it's all forgotten about after a month, then no lessen will be learnt!
oooooh - that's harsh and quite frankly uncalled for!
However I agree completely with the sentiment of the rest of your message, AND of Pee's post that you quoted.
OP - maybe let your daughter decide how she wants to pay back the debt. Maybe she will think no pocket money and working as hard as she can doing odd jobs is preferable to half pocket money and loosing her beloved phone! Also - the idea of handing over the money her grandfather is a good idea. It might be more humbeling that handing it to 'nasty Mummy who says I can't use my phone any more'?
When I was younger and in debt to my parents, my mother kept a detailed spreadsheet of my debts and payments. I was also charged intrest on the loan (at the rate the money would have earnt had it been sat in a savings account - believe me I knew I was getting a good deal compared to banks / credit cards!) I took great pride in watching the spreadsheet be filled in and the outstanding balance drop whenever I handed over an amount of cash. I think I still have the congratulations card that she wrote to me when I payed off the final installment
definitely a good learning experience, I am now almost 30 and have no debt!
I hope everything works out for the best.

its weak. Its the same as i must have these trainers or I will be bullied. Well if no parent gave in to brand name buying ever then there wouldnt be a problem.:footie:0

no because people are weak. If nobody had branded trainers no parents gave in there would be no trouble.:footie:0

Wow. You are good. It takes me at least three seconds in the presence of a spoilt brat to spot one, and you can do it telepathically over the internet... wow!!0
