I bought my daughter a beautiful veil from:

    http://stores.ebay.co.uk/Bridal-illusions

The seller could not have been more helpful, and no-one would have guessed that we hadn't spent much more.

    Sugarspunsister,

    You totally confused me there....lol

"Here's a pic of my eBay bargain (£150 it was at the time)

I didn't end up wearing it however as it needed so much alterations that the alterations alone would have cost a small fortune. "

You paid £150 for a dress which you've never worn....and being a wedding dress, you're not likely to wear it now...... and you consider it a bargain?????

To me, it was just £150 wasted, why not at least try to sell it and recoup some of your losses?

I bought my wedding dress from here:
    http://stores.ebay.co.uk/Cloud-Nine-Dresses

I liked that shop as the lady gives the actual bust, waist and hips measurements, and the length on longer dresses. It's easier to buy one that fits, rather than relying on size 10, size 12 etc., which can vary between manufacturer.

My dress was brand new with tags. The RRP was £895 and I paid £119 for it. I was thrilled to bits with it!

BUT the local bridal shops were charging between £750 - £950 !!!!!

it was a maggie sottero and came with certificate of authenticity and was fab

people thought i was mad buying a dress firstly from the US and secondly a dress id never tried on !!

but it was perfect :) got it taken up by my mums friend for a few ££

i got another dress for the evening reception from a UK site http://www.hillcrestbridal.co.uk/ its run by Linds who i "met" on the wedding planning forums on https://www.hitched.co.uk :)

Bought wedding dress on Ebay for ~£100 from 'yinhua_you'. We sent measurements and dress came back fitting fairly well. Will take to a dressmaker to make some slight alternations nearer time, but after saving £900 - that's hardly a big deal. Yinhua_you was very communicative, and it arrived as described.

All these dresses are fabulous. I don't think I would have considered Ebay at all before reading this thread.

Congratulations to all of you ~ Becles, your photos are lovely and your dress is beautiful :)

The seller is fab and even gave us a little bracelet to match her dress as a gift.
