Hi all
I am considering buying a wedding dress from an ebay shop. Has anyone done this?
All the shops seem to have good feedback but I am an ebay novice.
Has anyone bought their dress from ebay?
Thanks!

I bought my bridesmaids dresses from an ebay shop. They were absolutely lovely and more than half the price than that of a bridal shop.DMP mutual support number 174Total debt now (April 10) £0! - total paid off £30,221 or 100%I'm now debt free after 6 years!!:jNon smoker since June 2006 :j0

I bought my wedding dress on eBay 2 years ago (from HongKong)
It's beautiful, good quality and the transaction was painless
I didn't end up wearing it however as it needed so much alterations that the alterations alone would have cost a small fortune. Remember that it needs to fit YOU perfectly, and off the peg dresses like on eBay are often made for tall people because they can always be taken up as opposed to legthened!
If you know anyone with good dressmaking skills then I'd say go for it! If not, then just have bit more of a think about it first, and check all measurements!
Here's a pic of my eBay bargain (£150 it was at the time)
I also bought my bridesmaid's dress on eBay - which did get used... was absolutely incredible, although the rose which was stitched on the back did fall off by the end of the night :rotfl:
If you want the names of the people I used, feel free to PM me for details

Hi,
I bought my wedding dress from ebay and would absolutely reccommend it. I saved about 600 pounds buying a brand new dress from America. The seller I used was buydirectbridals.
You do have to bear in mind however that there is an import tax, which cost me £100 but even so, my saving was as above.
I was very nervous doing it this way but personally had no problems. Check seller feedback as usual.
You may well need to alter the dress as it will probably come in standard length, I got my mum to take mine up but hiring someone will still work out cheaper than shop bought.
Good luck!0 -
My wife's dress came off ebay, it was slightly too long but a set of hoops to give that 'toilet roll holding doll' look sorted that out
.
She then sold it on ebay afterwards and got just £30 less than she paid (why keep it in the loft going mouldy?)Toyota - 'Always a better way', avoid buying Toyota.0 -
I've just bought mine! It was advertised as a ball dress, but I think it's perfect. And it was a bargain at £130, but even more so as I didn't pay for it.Murphy's No More Pies Club #209

You can get to their Ebay shop from there. You can also get to my aunt's, but I'd prefer it if you didn't as we're having a mini war over feedback and you might get tempted to buy something.
EDIT: They've got another nice pink one, but it isn't as nice as mine!Murphy's No More Pies Club #209

I bought mine from Singapore last september for £9.99 with £30 p&p
It arrived within weeks and was absolutely gorgeous. I wore a 3 hooped underskirt to bulk it out.

my sister in law sells wedding dresses and bridesmaid dresses on ebay and on her website and they are gorgeous and half the prices of in the shops, she also bought 5 bridesmaids dresses on ebay for her wedding last year and they were lovely too so yes i think its a good way to find a bargin and reduce the cost of a wedding (especially if ur having 5 bridesmaids lol) Democracy is a process by which the people are free to choose the man who will get the blame.:j0
