• Hi everyone

I also received this call from a "Gavin" who basically said the same speel as everyone else has had on here. He rang me first when I was coming off my break and I asked if I could call on lunch and he goes....well I'll ring u next month. Thinking that i lost out, I emailed him apologising and he said the client were interested in my CV. He told me they were barclays, natwest and RBS.

I thought it was a bit suspicious so before going ahead with payment on Friday, I tried to check out heir website and have found out that I cant access it anymore. It says its forbidden. it was darnellinternational.c.uk Something seriously dodgy going on.

He also rang me today to make sure I am still paying and said I will call him on Friday. From reading this forum I wont be going ahead with this. I thought the job was too good to be true.

Sorry to all the guys that have lost their money but I dont think you will be getting it back.... they said that the call was recorded so maybe there is a way of getting ur money back by asking for a copy of the conversation.

Just to tell you that looking through totaljobs - I noticed that the position is now advertised as bold moves. DO NOT USE THEM.

[TEXT DELETED BY ABUSE TEAM FOLLOWING COMPLAINT].

Please research your job vacancies before stupidly submitting any money over.

(1) You do not need to hand money over ever for a job.
(2) Research the company involved.
(3) When they tell you the job, company - research it on their company website directly.

Just for reference:

A trainee FA salary is now at roughly this:

Co-op £16.5k
HSBC around £19k (not recruiting now - stopped until at least 2010 - graduate closed until 2011).
TSB - stopped. Trainee £21k.
Barclays recruiting but only for work experience. Trainee £21k.
Everyone else - needs experience i.e. nationwide.

Remember to say thank you to people who help you out!

Hey there,

Has anyone that has posted actually managed to retrieve their money?

If anyone has managed to then can you please update me as to how you managed to do this, as they have taken this money from me and i want it back.

Thanks for any help :)
• It is good to be able to share my mistakes with people in the same boat. My advise to any and all effected by this crowd, is to report them to Fair Trading Standards. You can do this via 'consumer direct' free help line. If enough people lodge a claim, they will have to bring about action. Next step would be to get in touch with your local Citizens Advice Bureau, they have granted me legal representation moving forward. I am going through the process of making a claim through the 'small claims court', this may well be what it comes to for you too. They are clearly acting in an unethical manner and annoyingly are getting away with conning unemployed people out of money. I will keep all those interested updated with my progress. Likewise, I suggest those effected do the same via this forum.

Anyway, - warning. The company in question is promoting again on total jobs as Junior Financial Advisor.

All must report to totaljobs on email postingsupport.faq@totaljobsgroup.com

• hello people
i also got a call from these guys earlier today and i was so excited at the prospect of working within the financial sector i was actually willing to fork out the 495 they were requesting. Problem was it sounded like a sales pitch so i told the guy id like to do some independent research and he should call back in a hour. so i go google and search darnell financial training scam and what pops up, this thread.

I read most of the post and immediately decided this was not for me, im currently unemployed and £495 is a big asking especially if im gaining nothing out of it, might as well give it to a street tramp.
Anyway, these guys phoned back an hour later and i told him i knew their game and i was no longer interested at which point he hesitantly asked where i found my info and i told him to google it which is why i think they now have a post up. I dont trust these people and there is no way they are seeing a penny of my hard earned cash.

Oh yeah, when he phoned back however, he did not withhold his number so those of you looking for a refund here is his number 07502394599. Look like he got a cheaper alternative to the south africa number. Anyway, good luck jobhunting.
• hi jono kindly let us know did u give any interview and if u did then what happened? any luck...
• hey all, last week darnell international set up an assesment day for me, when i arrived there i felt welcome and i soon found out over 40 interviewees was sent from darnell international which at the time felt normal but when we were on break we started chatting and this forum wastop of the conversation . i signed up for the CeFA module 1 course 3 months ago and completed it in 3 weeks although the consultant told me it could be done in 2 weeks. never the less, as soon as i passed my exam they contacted me advising me they will then forward me to the next interview dates.
i for one can assure you all that darnell international is not a scam as i have recieved probably the best service since i've came here. I was offered the job and unfortunatly i had to refuse it as it required me to relocate to Bath. I urge all the people i met at the interview last week in london to add your comment and tell us your stories to prove Darnell international is not a scam and that they do provide a good service.

ps. to the guys at darnell the new CeFA look, looks insane!!!!!! good work guys.

Thanks Gforce786.:T

If you google Consumer Direct and then give them a call on the number provided on their website they will forward your concerns to Trading Standards, annonymously.

After declining the courses once, I have been called a further three times by the same person on different numbers. It tends to be the last 2 or so digits that change and they are mobile phone numbers.

This guy has no recollection our conversations earlier in the day and after I enlighten him, the line goes dead. It therefore seems obvious that they haven't a clue who I am, but they still maintain that their client is 90% sure that I'm the person for the job.

Why did you apply for a job in Bath when you didn't want to move to Bath?

Darnell are also advertising the position in multiple counties/cities. Could they not offer you a job elsewhere?
