Hi everyone. Am not going to go into detail about my individual story. Just to say that this time it was a guy called Nicolas Cogill who rang me and said that one of his clients was the largest financial institution in the UK and that once I'd completed CEFA he would send me forward for interview.
I can't believe I was so naive. Having said that I'm glad this forum is alive and kicking and am in contact with a few of the people from this thread and am going to pursue this matter through the small claims court.
I suggest that despite doing this individually we all keep in touch through here and stay strong so that we all get our money back. Also hopefully Darnell International will get what's coming to them!0 -
I have been informed by Darnell on a number of occasions that my money will be refunded and this still has not happened has anyone else had there money returned?
Which is the best way to get it back court or section 75 if paid by credit card.
Can someone please message me back with an answer as I have been chasing since the middle of november and all seem to be passed from one person to another being promised a refund and it doesn't happened.
I need as 495 is a lot of money for nothing0 -
@tazzy
Please let me know when we should go for the small courts. I am in.0 -
Hi all, I had the exact same experience as everyone else has posted on here.
I tried getting my money back at the begining of the course as I was unhappy with the course material but was told I couldn't as I had gone over the "window" in order to do this.
I have spoken to them today and the first person I spoke to said "don't even bother trying to get a refund". I was then transfered to a woman who said she would be in contact with an answer to my request for a refund in the next 2 days.
I will definately take this to the small claims court, if the situation is not sorted.0 -

Hello All,
I've read the entire thread and have a question. I live abroad, and want to gain the CeFA or CFP certs. Is there a need for me to do online training thru someone like wizardlearning .com ??
Or will just buying the course materials direct from IFS/CII be enough to pass the exams?
WizardLearning has excellent info explaining the differences between IFS/CII certs, as well as a 3min presentation....so I think they are reputable.
I just need to know if I can go it alone and pass the exams using the study materials...
I note that the IFS actually offers the flexibility for students to sit exams in the Pearson Testing Centres abroad.
Any thoughts or comments?

I'm definetly in for the Small Claims Court option: I recently sent this e-mail to Darnell International:
For the attention of the manager,
I enrolled myself onto CeFA module 1 with Zaine who promised me that I already have the job as long as I pass CeFA Module 1. I was given a direct extension so that I could contact him, he told me that he works everyday, however, I tried contacting him for many months regarding help with the course as he told me it takes just 2 weeks to complete the course and I already have a placement waiting for me, he never seemed to be at work, he's either on his honeymoon, off sick or in a meeting.
I would like to know why I'm being ignored and why doesn't anyone call me back regarding this matter. I would like a full refund as I have been misled and told a whole pack of lies. Zaine explained to me that I had the right to cancel, but when I told him that I wanted to (mainly because of all the bad comments on the internet and the fact that I had decided to do something else), the phone went dead, as if he had hung up on me. I tried calling and calling but still there was no answer.
I have made over 50 calls to Darnell International regarding cancelling my account and have recently found out that Zaine no longer works with the company. I feel like I have no choice but to take this matter to a solicitor.
I will contact the office tomorrow regarding this matter, hopefully we can come to an agreement.
I have contacted the police who gave me a ref number and also contacted a solicitor. If we all stick together we can get a refund coz it's not just me that has been scammed, it's probably over 100 people at least.0 -
I have just called Darnell and have been told training side has closed.
I borrowed the money from a friend to pay for the cefa training which was £495 and was told that I would have a job at the end of the training I finished the training in October and then contacted them about the job.
The job I told had gone but I had been call each week I was training and told the job was still there for me.
In december I was contacted and told the refund would be sent before xmas.
This didn't happen so I contact in Jan & Feb and was told by a number of different people if was in the process of being refund.
Now today i have been told the training side closed in December but the training website is still up and running.
I need to get the money back and does anyone know the quickest way to get it back we paid by credit card so can I claim it back under section 75 or do i have to go through the small claims court.
I hope no-one else ever deals with darnell as there are just taking money for a training scheme that doesn't work and promising jobs at the end which do not happen.
Can someone please message me about the best way to claim the money back and the quickest way.
The pone number still is working on 08454750000 and they still answer as darnell international0 -
