can declare 2 more NSDs this week - would have been 3 but I forgot my chocolate & couldn't cope without any!

Have just checked my figures and......dare I say it - month 1 of new budget has worked!!!!!!!!! :j& there could be a little left over!! that will be split between mortgage overpayment fund & emergency savings account

am out for the day tomorrow off on a day trip to sunny spain - with left over euros from holiday so can happily spend without ruining a NSD!!!

transfer of energy company should be sorted in next few weeks so that will help too - as will not putting the heating on yet!!!

    bring on the weekend!

Oh how I envy you that!!! one day...one day!

Day trip was good but so very tiring, up for 22 hours, Barcelona was lovely & sunny & I came home with 40Euro left!!!!

On the not so good side, I spoke to soon about coming in under budget on groceries! Took Mr Lurker with me which was a mistake but I was too tired to drive or push the trolley!! bought massive pack of razor blades for him so we shouldnt need any until about May next year but not good for this months budget - not yet worked out the effect he'd had on budget...its on the list of jobs to do

Today is housework day & am hoping to get loads of washing done as its lovely out...thats if I can get my butt into gear!

  • well I got to the end of the week & I still have paper money in my purse!!
had a couple of Low spend days which could have been avoided, but overall not a bad week

planning to do nothing this weekend which I may regret as the house is a tip but I need some chill time...after the usual supermarket run that is

all in all the first month of new budget has gone ok, but I have my doubts as to whether its sustainable
Am pushing myself at work to be in a position to do overtime without being a drain on others.....but I don't see that happening for a while

things are ok at work, but the training seems to have dried up.....so am doing something different & having to guess its right - yikes!!

weigh in tomorrow, think it will be a gain as clothes not comfy, will have to make more effort with portion control & actually getting exercise instead of just thinking about it - which means i need to recharge my batteries & get some sleep

    night all

  • v quick update
doing ok on not spending much of weekly allowance, having said that will analyse it at weekend & probably be completely horrifed!
Blew grocery budget at weekend byt taking Mr Lurker with me - will I ever leatn that this is a bad bad thing to do - might be able to rescue it if I can stick to a budget of £25 for the next 3 weeks - could be interesting !!!

taken advantage of the extra hour to get more organised so lunches are being made the evening before while tea being prepared - I also have tomorrow evenings meal ready & waiting to ping
means we were able to get in much earlier (8.15 this morning) which is good for the flexi time if nothing else

proper update at weekend, got to go arrange lift home tomorrow to avoid paying out for buses!!

keep those pennies in your pockets folks

  • am having to relaunch my no vending machine challenge - with 65 days left until 2010, I need to get a grip or there will be even more of me to grip!!
stayed away from it today, but have still eaten way too much
tea was a fairly tasty spag bol, that I can proudly say I cooked from SCRATCH!!! first time I've made the sauce & can give it 8/10 which is pretty good & theres some left for Friday when I'm on my own for tea.
Was suprised how simple it was (thank you Lorraine Kellys anti junk food book)
Now I just need to sort out tomorrows lunches and we should be good for a fairly stressless morning
On the BAAAAAD side:mad:, beloved laptop has died again, only 2 weeks after being fixed - Mr Lurker (IT nerd) is not impressed at this challenge to his fixing skills - not sure what the next step is but I suspect it will be costly, hey ho

kick up the a*se now needed so I do my chores...thank heavens for hump day.....nearly the weekend!!
