Kind of avoided posting for last couple of days as didn't want to bring gloomy me into the interweb.
Things in the Lurking household are a bit....tense? No arguments, just wierd atmosphere.
Probably not spending enough time together so need to fix that sooner rather than later!
Yet again I've lost count of NSD - must try harder - I think I might have got to 10......
Grocery budget is doing ok....I've got £86.23 remaining of the budget, with just 2 weekly shops left - should be able to do those for less than £40 each
Weekly allowance £5 & shrapnel until saturday - meal Saturday with friends £13, £2 on day out ...problem is that the money is in new Tesco account but the pin won't work so I've had to take it out of current account & will need to pay it back if I ever get the card working - phoning the helpline is on list of jobs to do.....but I feel such a muppet for not being able to change a PIN?!?!?!
I have done the necessary to change elc & gas over to EDF (hopefully it will track through quidco) should reduce the DD by about £20 a month
also need to go through the list cashback stuff & bingoport instructions Savingholmes sent me.....maybe that one for the weekend!
Decided I want to sell wedding ring (from previous marriage, am not that mean) but most of these gold buying places want 10g gold - I can't find that much!!! the engagement ring can also go but not really sure where to sell it - don't want it, but equally want more than peanuts for it!!!
plan was to strip bed tonight but can't as kitty curled up on it & snoring - any excuse eh so will go & post cheque for milkman instead
Hope everyone is well & happy on DF motorway

I haven't got enough gold either to be worthwhile doing anything with....
Hope that the atmosphere in your house sorts out... I've spoken to a few people this week who all feel in a weird mood. I think the weather's changing, it is getting darker quicker and that is having an effect on mood!Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

it was mass DD day today so no chance of NSD...so in honour of that I bought a fridge lightbulb & a couple of bits for tea - not over £5 though as thats all I had left!
I'm blaming my 'mood' on a combination of things - the change in seasons, working full time after having 4 blissful months off but also dreading the liklihood that I'll have to start a job search again next year as this one only temporary contract - for that I need to kick myself cos its ages away & I do have a plan....yet still it sits there bring clouds to otherwise sunny days
Mr L is 4 weeks from payday & is £60 away from O/D limit & has about £150 in DDs to come out still.....payday loan from bank of me coming up!
Need to get grip on weight - theres really too much of be to get hold of now, am tackling the portion size so the only thing now is exercise.....
biscuit anyone?!I do not make mistakes, I learn lessons.I work to live, not live to work.I love to live & live to love.Good enough is exactly that.0 -
a biscuit sounds great ROFL

mm, thats about right, a friend of mine hinted that there may be something available with her but it would be back in FS again.....was surprised how tempted I felt!!!
probably won't come to anything so will put that to back of mind for now as there are more important things to deal with...
Forgive me MSE-ers, for I have sinned & must confess!!!
I had a plan for yesterday - while Mr L seeing the offsrping I would have hair done, waste hour window shopping then we'd do supermarket run on way home. the plan went wonky. Mr L needed more time with offspring (reasonable) so from then on the sinning began
# Sin1 - meal deal from boots - slightly less sinful as chose smoothie for fruit content.....yes the snack was chocolate!
# Sin2 - while browsing saw reduced work-style top £11.20 from £14 with extra 20% off.....picked it up in 2 colours - didn't notice the other was still £14...took to till....first one goes through @ £2 (!!!!!!) the other at the £14...then 20% off.....£12.80 for 2....great price BUT I used the credit card:o cos didnt have enough cash
# Sin3 - ended up buying bottle of water as had forgotten to bring one with me
# Sin4 - too knackered to do supermarket run so have ruined todays chances of NSD
what can I say? other than oops!I do not make mistakes, I learn lessons.I work to live, not live to work.I love to live & live to love.Good enough is exactly that.0 -

Using the card isn't the sin, it's ignoring the fact you used it!
# Sin4 - too knackered to do supermarket run so have ruined todays chances of NSD I don't count groceries as NSDs ruined as they are budgeted for as I have an account for food/toiletries. As long as I don't cheat and buy books/clothes in the supermarket there's nothing to confess
what can I say? other than oops!0 -
weheyy, have been absolved of my sinning......
the reason i'm counting the supermarket run as a spend day is mainly because if I don't, I'll put lots of extras in the trolley...that 'don't count'
But for today I won't count it as we really didnt have the time yesterday probably would have chucked extras in the trolley for the sheer hell of it instead of looking at the list...ahh piffle. no. change of plan
Supermarket Shops no longer count int he NSD challenge - its just toooo hard!I do not make mistakes, I learn lessons.I work to live, not live to work.I love to live & live to love.Good enough is exactly that.0 -
You've got to give yourself a fighting chance at the end of the day!0

so true...no point in setting an impossible to achieve target....have I learnt nothing from trying to flog stuff to the unsuspecting public?!I do not make mistakes, I learn lessons.I work to live, not live to work.I love to live & live to love.Good enough is exactly that.0

I rock!!!!!!
Todays visit to Mr T came in under £25!!! ok that was with a little help from some savings stamps I found (£4) realised that I've not bought any for at least 8 years!!!! so it was unlikely that I'd buy more!
Its looking good for coming in UNDER budget - properly for once!!!I do not make mistakes, I learn lessons.I work to live, not live to work.I love to live & live to love.Good enough is exactly that.0
