Hello everyone.
I've just noticed this thread and wish I'd found it earlier! My days at work are normally quite slow so it would be nice to pass the time chatting to you lovely people!(as long as you don't mind me joining in that is!)

:hello: hi everyone!
Welcome to all our new posters - what a lot we've got:D and welcome back to our returning ones! We missed you!
(((HUGS))) to everyone in need of some. Quite a lot of you atm! Thinking of you.
bargainbird - Had to chuckle about your accidental practice run:rotfl:
Went to Rochester on the train yesterday with DD1, browsed the secondhand bookshops and had a jacket potato in the Cathedral tearooms. Did too much walking so really tired today - I'm afraid dinner is going to have to be the emergency can of M&S Bolognese with the last of the chestnut mushroooms (left over after making the mushroom goulash the other day) stirred in, so i suppose it's sort of partly OS
Tomorrow we're going to Dover to visit the in-laws as we haven't seen them since May. So we may have lunch out somewhere depending on how MIL is feeling. If she's not well enough to go out, we'll get fish and chips or something.
DH is at dentist atm, having new crowns fitted, so here goes for another big bill  Oh well, can't be helped.
Haven't even managed any housework today apart from washing and drying one loadI'll be so glad when the iron tablets start to kick in!

thought I would treat (??) myself to a new peeler today, look at the Lakeland mincer and have coffee and a bun in their tearoom at the Handforth branch.
I was rather suspicious when I got there and parked easily, it's normally tricky at the best of times. I went into the store then headed for the staircase to see if there was a queue for a table. Not allowed up there. It seems that the cafe is closed and the upstairs is being made into further sales floor.
I understand why they're doing this (obviously working, as I was able to park!) but was a bit disappointed. Especially as it was 1.30 and I hadn't had lunch!"Knowledge is knowing that a tomato is a fruit. Wisdom is not putting it in a fruit salad"

Ds doesn't usually come in my bed (about 6 times so far in his whole life), so I was horrified when he shouted me again last night! I ended up sitting on a chair in his room until he fell asleep. he is not coming in my bed again, but it took a long time, and it was 1am before I got to bed. I need to live next door to Bitsy so that we can take turns sleeping.
Well I'll see if I can persuade my neighbour to sell up so you can move in. Be warned though DS had a gob like a fog horn. I swear he has two noise levels - asleep and VERY LOUD!!!!!
Tiredmum - that's shocking what's happening. I hope the Police are going to take your concerns very seriously as it sounds like quite severe intimidation/harrassment going on.
WEEZE - my suggestion would be make a meal plan out of the things you have in your cupboards already and stuff you know you are going to want to eat. Then IF you need anything from the supermarket you only buy what you need.
Mitane - hope your throat gets better quick. Not had my tonsils out but had tonsilitis and that was bad enough.
So nice to see so many people posting:T

Haven't posted lately, been away last week with DD and Fiance at OH's.
Took them to Portmouth, and Arundel Castle. Used my chair so I had a good day too. .
If you ever go to Arundel again, let me know, I live very near there, we could meet up :T, glad your dd is getting on ok xx
FairyE, are they allowed to make you redundant whilst you are pregnant
Tired mum  poor you, make sure you write this all down, and take photo eveidence if possible, hugs to you xx
Maitane take it easy, hope you recover soon xx
Ivyleaf, dont try and do too much, take care of yourself.
Got in from work and made 8 jars of chutney, a mixture of green tomato, apple and onion, its delish, I also decanted my sloe gin, blackberry vodka, and mars bar vodka from last year , so we have a nice stock building up. I have no more jars left, but still have a load of grapes to make into jelly, so will have to ask everyone to keep them for me.
Just had tea, and a nice hot bath, going to settle down now and relax for a bit, have a good evening all xx0 -
Evening all
Wow I'm glad my work day is over, it has been so busy, I'm shattered. Easy tea tonight though as I am trying to use stuff up from the freezer, so YS sausages and YS potato wedges with veg. Yoghurts (on offer in Mr T) for pud, so all nice and quick.
Welcome newbies
MSD - glad nobody was seriously hurt, damaged car is an inconvenience but it could have been so much worse.
Tiredmum ((((Hugs)))) what is going on is so awful
FE fingers crossed for the job

Welcome Weeze I sympathise with the trolley toss. It's so much easier now when I make up meal plans and shop accordingly. I like bulk cooking and freezing portions because on those busy evenings, it's can be a life saver!
Domestic Goddess, sorry to hear about your soup. At least you tried and you found out what you don't like in it.I have two ways I do chicken soup. The first is to chop some carrots, celery and an onion and let it simmer. Sometimes I add noodles or rice to it. The other way I add tinned tomatoes and mixed veg from frozen packs and make a chicken veg soup. I don't blitz either of them. Hope this helps.
Fairy Elephant Thanks for the tip on freezing sandwiches. I much prefer wholemeal to white so even better. Glad to hear your interview went well.
Welcome also to PurpleSkies Glad you're here, the more the merrier.
Ivyleaf Hope the iron starts working for you soon also. Is your doctor having you take vitamin C with it? It helps your body absorb the iron better.
Didn't get as much done as I'd hoped to today. The spag sauce is cooling some and I'll portion it up soon for the freezer. Made the soup and we had that and grilled cheese sandwiches for tea. I have a couple of portions of soup to freeze too.
Going to clean up the kitchen shortly and I think an early night in bed with a book. I'm feeling very run down this evening.
Take care all and gentle hugs for all.
Peyton xxTake the first step.
Even if you cannot see the whole staircase,
Just take the first step.
