Yay to the new job Lula :T:T:T

All adds to the CV, new skills and all that ...shall we be calling you Miss Moneypenny now? :p. There is quite a demand for flexible office admin these days - especially in your neck of the woods;) Also women are setting up in business offering remote admin/virtual office (just need email address/link to client server and separate telephone number) to start-up/small companies who outsource because don;t have/can;t afford premises but need help .......worth a thought going forwards if you like the new job

I would love a cat - have always have wanted one - but what with work requiring me to stay away (although not so much now) - it's never been practical.

......and I think I have enough furries to keep me busy (and the vets in business) atm :D

Oooh - forgot to say - have stardrops .......:D...will leave package on your doorstep next time I'm in area (probably next week). I also found an old but unopened pack of real coffee in my cupboard brought back from St Lucia if you want to try? (I don;t seem to drink much real stuff these days - hate the faff of dealing with the grounds afterwards :o)

    Hey Wol my lovely :D,

loving the sound of other potential flexible admin jobs. I'm quite keen on this 'portfolio' approach to work. Actually, anything on the CV would be helpful .

You are more than welcome to play Auntie Wol to our new Jedi Master :D ... thanks for the pet insurance reminder too . Thanks for the goodies :A & would be good to see you if you have time to stop off for a tea on your travels ? Text /call & if you know in advance when. As to coffee grounds ... they go in your compost bin ;).

We still have a fishy appointment to make so will be in touch soon about that :D. Big hug for Bandit

    Hi Lula

I'm really enjoying having a flexible portfolio that means i can organise days off when I want/need them (especially fridays :D). In fact I'm enjoying it so much I'm not quite sure if I will ever be able to go back to 9-5 full time in an office again. My quality of life is SOO much better. For the last 20 years I have lived to work..more often than not 12-15 hours a day and weekends..:(..now I work to live, have slowed down a lot (well too much actually - need to get a bit more organised :o) and get "me" time to just potter or read a book...or cuddle a piggie :D

Once I get diary sorted out with clients for next two weeks I will know where I am when so wll let you know re popping in for a cuppa.

I have lots of compost bins.........but I can;t seem find a tidy way to get them all to deposit there from the cafetiere without leaving grounds in the sink, the dishwasher........etc :o.

And yes please - I would love to be Auntie to Jedi master :j:j........

I quite agree about quality of life Wol, & I am actually allergic to working on fridays :D. Even when working full time pre current home jobby I preferred to do extra hours on the other days just to get my friday off ;).

Well, the Jedi Master is looking most at home already. Was completely chilled in the car ( ok, I did tone down the driving & corner on all 4 wheels :rotfl:) & we had the food bowls, tray & basket all set up in the kitchen as advised to keep him in one room for a couple of days.

Hmmmm ... he likes company, we left him in the kitchen while we had our meal & he just mewed & mewed & mewed :( So, I thought oh hang it, we'll let him out & see what he does ... he came in to the living room, lay down on the carpet & was perfectly chilled. He keeps approaching for attention, & seems perfectly happy just lying on the rug while I type this. The hardest bit has been getting DD to go to bed :rotfl:. No sign of him having used his tray yet & he has already been down to the front door & had a good old scratch on the mat, whether he just likes it or was hinting that he wanted to go out I dont know  I will put him to bed in the kitchen tonight & just hope that at some point he uses the tray as we cant let him out for 4 weeks & no living being can wait that long . He's made no attempt to leap onto the furniture or window sills which is great & contrary to what we were advised might happen & his behaviour so far makes me think he must have had a good home & just somehow became separated from it. He has now been chipped ;).

I've paid the adoption fee so no NSD for me today but I have got the pet insurance through Quidco so will be expecting £20 cashback . There's a huge difference in the prices & I spent quite along time having to work out which was the best deal for me. Yes, I'd love £40 cashback, but not if the excess is £100 . I opted for £60 excess & £6 a month instalments with 0 apr for paying monthly so happy with that.

All this cat business has taken my mind off the new job which is good as if I thought about it too much I'd feel quite ill. I dont manage multiple changes very well & need time to adjust to & absorb new routines :o.

    bye for now

Many years ago.....my then husband and I adopted a rescue cat.......kept him in as prescribed.......and one day he disappeared .......I saw his tail hanging down from the bedroom chimney.....panicked ........and pulled hard..:o....he never went up there again :rotfl::rotfl:

Don;t forget to butter his paws before you let him out ....no idea why but it worked for us ;)

    Hmmmmm yawn,

cat was up & awake & mewing at 6am . I think it was either to tell us that he had christened his tray as directed or extreme hunger pangs. Possibly both. I've never seen food disappear so fast & a bowl licked so clean. As DD had to go to school I thought it a bit unfair to make her deal with 'stuff' that early so I did the honours. NB I will be having my saturday morning lie in tomorrow so she's in charge of trays & bowls etc.

Decided not to shut him in the kitchen while I went out to do shopping as it seems mean, especially with all those starlings & magpies that dance around on the flat roof under the window .

Headed off to pet store, again. Wont be long before staff know me by name as I feel I will be spending more time in there than I previously did in TK MaXX :o. Spent £21.85 on big bag of food, meaty chunk pouches, name tag thing, the wrong kind of grooming comb - so it has to go back  & a cute little rattan ball with feathers that he had to have because it matches the rug in the living room :D.

Discovered there's a new Argos store in the same retail park so popped in there to get DDs craft present saving myself £10 thanks to Ipsos :D.

Next stop the town centre; had just parked & sneaked into primarni looking for cheap work type tops, had one in my little hand & was heading for the till when alarm sounded. First thought was that some uberchav was trying to thieve from primarni but turns out it was fire alarm. All were ushered towards the outdoors accompanied by all shops alarms going off. Was very disappointed to see the Thorntons manager lock the shop before she left ... was intending on getting stuck in there before being resuced by hunky fireman - dammit  .

10 minutes later we were allowed to resume our retail therapy so I headed back to primarni & bought the top in a sale for a mahoosive £2.46, also found some fab cow slippers for DD for £ 3.91. Then headed towards Next to find DD some new jeans & was gratified that the only pair I knew she would like were only £10, as opposed to the flowery, embroidered variety which were £15 ;). I ventured into TK Maxx & was about to purchase a gorgeous cashmere jumper dress type thing with belt until I rembered that I was on the Clothes Challenge & it was the price of not only the rest of this years allowance, but half of next years too, so put it back .

Dammit, these debts are seriously hindering my spendalicious ways. Watch me keep this new job just so that I can buy new 'work' clothes :rotfl:. Yet another gem I learnt from the sarahb school of justification ;).

Whizzed into the co op on the way home to top up on essentials; coffee & Pink Elephants & also bought some more oats for hobnobs, more half price buttery spread, ham, franks, ham, lasagne, potatoes & milk. Total price of shopping £12.81 but actual groceries only £ 8.52. Cant remember when my shopping week begins but will say that it's today as I now have £27 left in my purse.

I received another £2 coin today & have sussed out that this is often where money leaks to when I cant account for it. £6 this week . The pet insurance from Argos has already tracked & apparently it could be in my account within a month. All Quidco cash goes to secret bank account along with £2 coins & coppers pot. DD is now fine about me having them as long as she still gets her 5ps ... pocket money goes up next week to £5 & I am hoping to encourage her to put some in the bank every month ... :rotfl:.

Sun is shining & my garden is calling me, cant wait for Cat to be able to come out to play too, thanks for the butter tip Wol, I've heard that before so will definitely try it :D

    bye for now

Lula - were your ears burning yesterday? I was talking about you leaving some veg on a doorstep in exchange for some paving slabs. I am into good karma - whilst at the NEC a whole load of kids in wheelchairs tried to get through the automatic disabled door which happened to be broken:mad: so this guy and myself held open a set of doors so they could all wheel through. In return for my good deed..I am sure someone was watching..today I received a ticket to park on the carpark at Lidl, now its normally me handing over mine but this nice chap in a range rover said that I could have his ticket as there was an hour left on it, I only needed an hour:cool:

Great news about the new job and Primarni sells nice work clothes.

Not much done today - I did my ad and sent it off to the publishers so that it will appear in the November issue of Perfect Wedding magazine:cool: Did some shopping in Lidl, cleaned the windscreen on my car as it was all smeary after I accidentally sprayed it with blackcurrent fruit shoot on Tuesday:rolleyes:

Am glad that is happy in his new home - can he have Iams because they claim you only need one bowl of Iams as opposed to 20 pouches of whiskas:eek: Am not allowed pets here - the landlord has put up a notice about them asking that folks dispose of their pets humanely only the girls who live upstairs above me have written a note on the bottom asking if that includes the pigeons in the loft as well?:rotfl:

Back again, cant get shot of me that easily, I really dont have anything better to do on a friday night other than sip on a pink elephant & ramble away on here :o.

Glad your karma is flowing too Horace :D, I believe that if everyone just did one good thing selfless thing each day then the world would be a happier place. I will definitely investigate Iams in the future; at the moment it's advised to keep cat on the same food as a sudden change can cause upset tummies & while he is confined to the house I will not be tempting that , but I definitely have a plan to gradually introduce cheaper food in to his diet.

Hey Shoe Gal, was wondering where you had got to , hope all's ok with you will check out your diary for any new developments in a minute.

Quick financial update : DD1 visisted, got mauled by cat for being too affectionate :( but came bearing 2 x £2 coins so of course I had to buy them which means I now have another £20 to pay into secret bank account :jbut also that I'm £4 down on the grocery budget ... or maybe I can take it from miscellanea

This is very complicated, I forgot to take the parking money out of miscellanea, think I need more purses, or maybe more wine :D

Definitely more wine and maybe another purse or two:D

I can remember when my mum adopted a cat - it wasnt a user-friendly creature at all and would bite and scratch, it first arrived in the house as a kitten and it dared pat dad's newspaper and he went ballistic so whiskey had to leave and was taken in by the neighbours who must have mistreated her so that she became a none-user friendly cat :( When mum encourage her back who doted on the animal more than her - my dad:eek: I was afraid of the cat and can remember staying in my old room once and I had shut the door and the cat was scratching to be let in (she used to sleep on my bed:mad:) so I was there shouting to my mum to get rid of the cat..I didnt dare let it in because I swear it would have smothered me in my sleep:eek:

Best get a wriggle on and go to bed I have an early start and I am off to the hairdressers for a damn good cut and I need a colour put on as the grey bits are showing:eek: (its one section like a widows peak).
