    Morning all,

 to not realising about the clarinet / trumpet / reed thing :o. If I had any sense I would have remembered that you were musical Wol & asked you first. My dear father used to play clarinet & I know he has one kicking about somewhere which is why I thought it would be a fab idea. He will think it hilarious that DD wants to learn trumpet .

Sorry to hear that you're all demotivated Horace, that's most unlike you . It could be all down to the forthcoming autumn equinox which is why there's wild winds, lashing rain & we're all feeling a bit unsettled. We know winter is approaching but we're still trying to hang on to summer. Dark at 7 here yesterday & my heating decided to fire up so it must have dropped below 20. I have been using the Old Stylers tips of lighting tea lights to warm the air. Not sure whether it's working or not, but it looks very pretty & feels snug & cosy.

I'm loving your DIY style H - I'm a firm believer in the power of wood glue & hammering myself ;).

Thanks for the good luck Lexxi :D where are you heading off to next week ?

My work load isnt due until about midday today so I've been very good & made the most of my free time by packing away all my summer clothes & then wondering how to fit into my jeans for winter. I'm not sure why I have so much summer stuff to wear but hardly a winter item in sight .

Must go drink more coffee & peruse Old Style board for more sneaky penny saving tips ;)

It's getting cold here too, I've had to put an extra sheet on the bed to keep warm, OH didn't notice and I had to explain it to him last night, it was like getting clean sheets twice in one week!!
We are off to tenerife next week, it's really hot out there right now I'm just looking forward to a break, although I seem to have wound down completely already!

I'm off to look at the up your income boards, was offered a mystery shop last night for pretty good money and I had to turn it down as it's in manchester and I'm not! It might be being rolled out to everywhere so hopefully they'll think of me  I'm determined it will kick start me into being proactive :rotfl:

Layering is good for keeping warm Lula, you can wear all your summer clothes so you wouldn't even need to buy winter clothes, it'd be like double moneysaving

    Yawn & good evening,

Havent done much today but feel very tired. Collected DD1 from the airport, went to look at cats at the RSPCA centre, popped in to the co op & signed DD up for school club.

Spent £ 6.40 in the co op on a few bits - have lost count of what I've spent but intend to start again tomorrow . Collected another £2 coin :D.

Paid £27 for DDs after school club - came out of funds though so not a real spend ;)

Have topped up all the funds as follows :

Gas / Electricity £130 - have increased weekly saving by £5 now
    Car Tax £ 40
    Car £ 30
    Presents £ 0 ( DDs birthdays)
    DDs clubs £ 30
    Clothes £ 15

I have £40 to pay into the bank so can now make the £65 payment to CC2 & keep to the £30 a week to CC1 plan. I really want to get on with the debt busting now. I'm happy to use the CB in the ISA to cover the DDs birthdays but after that we're on a serious budget.

I've received another freebie voucher from Waitrose & this one's for cakes - yum. Cant wait to get there tomorrow morning :rotfl:

Lexxi - hope you have a fab holiday :j soak up all the sunshine you can

    Morning :hello:

Well, my little cup of happiness is now brimming after a shopping trip to waitrose :rotfl:

The clever ones among you may have noticed that actually I have gone shopping 3 days early which means that I am even more rubbish at the grocery budget than I realised :o. However, as DD1 is coming over for a birthday meal tonight it couldnt be avoided & it is still cheaper than the original plan which was to go out for meal.

I ended up spending £30.46 on groceries but this did include some savings on stuff like quorn mince, fromage frais & pizzas & garlic bread for tonight. I usually go mad on the fruit spending & then end up having to compost it as we just cant eat enough before it goes off so I just stuck to apples & bananas for now. I got 4 jars of pasta / chicken sauce - all reduced ;) so what with the quorn mince & 2 portions of chicken still in the freezer that's 4 meals already catered for. I also bought a huge block of cheese which was a 'strength' lower than the usual one I get. My reasoning being that for an extra 250g I only paid 45p & that size in the higher strength would have been £1.80 more . I also got some more of the low caloried cup a soups which turn out to be the same price as the Tatco ones - hah :p.

I will need to top up on milk during the week & maybe some more veg but am hoping that the allotment will yield yet more carrots, potatoes, leeks & courgettes. Must also try some of that chard stuff now that Horace has identified it & it's uses :T.

I also took some more of our old stuff in to the charity shop & paid the 'spare' £40 in to the bank.

I've promised DD that we will go to the RSPCA place tomorrow so I can show her the fabulous & enormous Ginger that I fell in love with. If she decides that she loves him too then that will be her birthday present sorted, allowing for us passing the inspection test. I will not however, attempt to wrap him up.

Right, onwards to internet banking ....

I now have visions of a cat being wrapped up in birthday paper with sellotape stuck to its ears:rotfl: (I wouldnt do it for real but the image is quite entertaining).

I had an email from wigglers yesterday to say that they have been inundated with seed requests but will be sending them as soon as they can.

Best check my mail for a coupon from waitrose - I couldnt use the last one as am allergic to fish and my mum hates trout so that was her out of the equation too. I quite fancy a drive to Droitwich to visit Waitrose - there is one in Harborne too which is about the same driving distance but the Droitwich one is nicer:D Yes, thank you Lula - you have given me an idea, instead of driving to Lidl in Kings Heath I will go to Droitwich instead:j

The OS board might have tips on what to do with chard. I tell you what is nice kale - its like savoy cabbage only nicer (and to think that I used to think that it was cattle feed - farmers around here do feed their cows with kale).

Thanks for that fabulous vision H :rotfl:

I have tried the wigglers a few times but keep being told that the freebie offer is not available at present. Will persist though :D.

Hmmm to kale, not one of my faves. Enjoy your drive & fi macaroons are your thing then I can recommend the seriously almond ones - had to try a couple with my real coffee earlier.

I have been to internet banking & paid £65 off CC2 - only 46p over the minimum but I cant be doing with silly pence so am the Queen of rounding up hence my new total debt is currently £ 5853.

Now off to investigate pet insurance  ...
