I had the same letter from barclays aswell Lula. I was wondering if they are sending it to everyone in the hope some will reduce their minimum payments and pay off debts over a longer period. I've paid well over for the last couple of payments as it's almost (finally) clear0

Morning to all,
it's a gloomy one here but never mind, these things are irrelevant to we debtbusters.
Lexxi - I reckon you're right about Barclays trying to drum up some sneaky extra interest. Shoe Gal, I do hope you dont get left out of their 'generous' offer . Now that I'm a bit more savvy about these things I actually quite enjoy seeing through these efforts to extract more money from us whilst pretending to be doing us a favour :rotfl:. Just to show them how serious I am about not taking up their offer I have just sent them a payment of £50.
Horace, Well done on that assignment :A:j:D great work.
Well, the boss's party was pleasant, quite a family type affair & no one was mingling so I was glad to be with DD & co workers. We chatted to boss who seemed to be enjoying herself but looked exhausted & only stayed about an hour. We arrived home to discover one of my 'great character' neighbours in the process of being taken to hospital. It was a very sobering type of evening really so I just packed DD off to bed & watched hours of CSI to cheer myself up .
The rest of my weekend whizzed by. I went to waitrose;) on sunday morning to do some shopping & was most impressed to discover their 'essentials' range of basics. I ended up spending £ 24.87 in there & got loads & what with bogofs & offers saved a cheeky £4.34 including packs of drink for DDs lunches which worked out at £3.50 for 4 weeks supply
.
I was however, a bit miffed to discover that they had the full range of ecover stuff on offer of buy 3 & get the cheapest free. But my big Tatco haul of cleaning stuff should last a while ( months actually - I'm not a fan of domestic duties).
I stopped off in the co op on the way home to pick up some chicken fillets which are on offer at 2 pack for £5. The packs are huge & will do 4 meals for DD & I so I bunged them in the freezer. I also got bag of 12 kiwis as they were reduced to 50p & we love them. So now have £4.63 for the rest of the week _pale_
We headed off to the RSPCA gala day to do a stint on a stall over there & managed to collect loads of signatures for a petition. In spite of the parade of dogs waiting to be rehomed & DDs pleading I managed to escape without a Husky, Mastiff or Rottweiler. We did have a brief look at the cats though & DD fell in love with a very fluffy black kitten & I was quite tempted by a bundle of 4 little tabby & white ones ... I have said we will return to find out what kind we are suitable for at a later date ....
This morning I have paid £50 to CC1 (aka Barclaycard) which takes that balance to £2,719 & the total outstanding debt as of now is £5,905. I am making some headway, according to the snowball I've paid almost £1,000 off CC1. Would love to get the total down to under £5,000 (again)by the end of the year but wont make any big declarations of intent as I hate it when it doesnt happen.
Today is a NSD so I need to get to the library after school so I dont end up paying charges.
Best go check the inbox so bye for now

Just nipping in quickly while I'm watchin my nephew (who is giving it zzzz) for 20 mins. Thought I'd nip in and say hi :hello:
No mention of the B-word so I guess you're still doing well :T
Hopefully I'll get chance to catch up properly before I go on holiday.

It's another night on the Quest & a big hellooooo to Purple Tea & Bowski , so lovely to have you both pop in when I know you have busy lives yourselves, thank you :A.
Apologies in advance for potentially dodgy shpelling & random rambling ... have found new delicious wine that just slips down my throat so smoothly:D.
As wine is coming out of my treats budget I actually need to make sure it is a treat so I plan to only have a couple of glasses every other night ...
I lost another £7.72 from my Treats Budget today due to wine, peanuts, peppermint tea (like the wine, it's only me that drinks it so it must be a treat ) & a teeny weeny little Cadbury s Twirl that was of course a patriotic show of support for keeping Cadbury s Britishyes, I went to the Sarahb School Of Justification :rotfl:
Poor depleted Treats Budget now only has £53.87 left in it
The weekly shopping budget is about to tip over into the red due to a brief yet costly trip to the co op this morning. Bread, buttery stuff & peas came to £4.14 which i think makes me overdrawn:mad:. there is no way the reducded milk i bought fomr waitrose on sunday is gong to last unitl next sunday so will go even further overdrawn too. Grrrr failed in week 2, pathetic.
The healthy living plan was going great until tonight. I've been doing the yoga everyday, drinking peppermint tea & loads of water every day, still choking down a couple of cups of the heinous cheap coffee - convinced elves are refilling the storage jar every night - but making sure there's at least a twenty minute walk every day as well as the yoga & tonight did an hour. The wine & peanuts have probably countered all the efforts I made but will just have to redress the balance for the next 3 days .
We both refuse to get on the bikes until we have new saddles but I'm not sure whether these are classed as treats or essential equipment to ensure prevention of further medical treatment. I swear our very genders are at risk here.
The Pink Elephant has just hit me so think I'd best retire with a small shred of dignity intact. This post taking ages as I have to go back & retype every single word :rotfl:
G'night

Good morning,
Due to a ridiculously early night yesterday ( thanks Pink Elephant) I woke up full of energy & leapt out of bed to bend & stretch in an effort to tone & lithe up my stubborn muscles. I have now accepted that this is not quick fix & will only be effective if incorporated into my daily life for the rest of it .
Scarily, I had washing on the line & was preparing dinner by 9.30. DD1 is off on holiday tonight so will be leaving her car here & having a good meal before she goes. She was wanting to 'hang out' here yesterday but I think I managed to offend her by reminding her that this place may look like a, home but actually it is work place during the day & I dont go & hang out with her while she is at work so would appreciate the same consideration.
I have always struggled to get people to understand that working from home doesnt mean I require a constant stream of cups of tea with visitors & phone calls from those who cant bear to be alone for more than half an hour . I also know that DD1 actually just wanted to spend hours tap tapping on the pc ( facebook & -horror of horrors- the fishing site ) this would mean frequent requests for me to 'come & look at this' ... not to mention her phone going off every 2 minutes .
I did say that I'm not a nice person.
I've been wondering what to get for her birthday ( she opted to repay the car insurance ) & have decided that I will contribute to a laptop fund. I will also comandeer any other money she receives from relatives for the same purpose. She wont like it right now, but will appreciate it in the long term ( as will I)
Just waiting for hideous work load to arrive which will keep me busy until about 10 tonight (hence early meal planning) & DD is back to Brownies tonight so will be very tired & grumpy - oh joy -
NSD so far & lets hope it stays that way ...0 -

yes, I went to the Sarahb School Of Justification :rotfl:
:j:j:j Go Sarah! She has trained us sooooooooo well
I agree with you about setting boundries about your 'workplace' during the day
