How's the job going Lula?Declutterbug-in-progress.⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️0

Hello,
I really really meant to update yesterday but it turned out to be a bit of a manic day.
Work was fun, helped out in the workshop, what I really enjoy working for small businesses is how everyone lends a hand where it's needed rather than having strict tasks & demarcation lines. Everyone gets to learn a bit about other people's jobs, gain some new skills & understanding.
A phone line & pc has been set up on the desk I'm using so I guess I'm still in with a chance.
After work I drove very carefully to Tatco - because the needle was just on the red . I didnt have much cash on me so didnt do a big household shop & I had to get some stuff for DDs tea & sleepover today + the loo rolls of course. I spent about £12 on household stuff & another £ 10.86 on groceries, then another £ 10 on party type food. will be well over the grocery/food budget this week as I was when it was DD1's birthday. Cant be helpe & it's made me realise that I should have saved some money for this. Another lesson learned .
After that I went to fuel up & that was a nasty shock. I only had £40 in my petrol fund & it cost £41.75  to fill up so had to use some of grocery money. Just got home in time to collect DD from school, loads of people called, then at 8.30 pmI realised I hadnt got any wrapping paper or a card for DDhad to whizz to local shop & got stung £1.99 for card . Would have made her one normally, but she likes to have a badge to wear to school. Made do with scraps of wrapping paper & tissue paper for presents but was up until 1am doing it.
Sweet thing was awake & raring to go at 6.20 this morning but loved all her presents :j.
I hoovered, did washing, went to Waitrose & spent another £ 31.75 of which £22.82 was on groceries. Havent yet worked out my total spends, just throwing the figures down & also need to plan my food for the next week very carefully as I think i may have no money at all left to spend
Gotta go collect DD & Bessfriend from school now so will try to update later ...
hugs to all & I havent had any alcohol since sunday  but did do a survey on wine last night - thought I was well qualified to complete that :rotfl:0 -

Hide from DD1??
Must resist many comments here :rotfl:
Glad you are well Lula and to hear the job and birthday are successes.A smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who giveor "It costs nowt to be nice"0 -

I am pleased you are enjoying your new job Lula.
I am with Scottish Power - I refuse to pay by Direct Debit, however, I pay by standing order instead which means that I am paying on my terms not theirs and still get a bit of discount as if I had paid by DD.:D
I was up and some ungodly hour this morning and went to a breakfast meeting - I am going again on Friday:eek: Truth be known I am actually going to letch, there is a gorgeous bloke (american) that goes called Mauro who is a personal trainer but he also sorts out your posture etc so I have arranged to see him on 19 October - cheaper for me to see him than for him to come and see men £20 cheaper in fact:eek: I have long standing back problems and basically want to be pain free so we will see if he can fix me.
Need to write a stinky letter to Monarch airlines today too - I booked a flight to Spain for 12 Oct - returning on 17 Oct..now although they 'saved' me £25 (note to self - need to add this to the £10 a day challenge) for booking online the little weasels have set their webpage so that you have to book a seat for the outbound flight which costs £15.00, then they dare to add a £1.50 surcharge for pre-booking a seat and then the ruddy cheek of it an extra £4.08 for paying by credit card:eek: I couldnt progress further on the site with the booking without booking this wretched seat (if they want to charge me for a seat then I would like the one with a forward view right next to the pilot - thank you very much:mad:).
Horace is on the warpath today - she has even rung up the bus company after an horrendous trip back from town on the bus..can't these flippin' drivers drive for gawd's sake:mad: This one liked to kangaroo and if he wasnt kangarooing then he was accelerating and then jamming on his brakes at the last minute - one poor lady with a walking stick went flying:mad: When it came to my stop (yes, I did give some notice), he accelerated to the lights, went through them and had to stop because the no.62 was on the stand already (its by the jobcentre so its quite a busy stop) - not content with sitting behind the bus he swings out into the traffic flow and then cuts in in front of the bus at a dangerous angle.0 -
No wine?? Not even a birthday glass?
Fear not Fire Fox, there'll be wine happening tonight & I did forget to mention that I had a pub lunch with dad who forced me to have a glass with my meal
Tixy - well done on resisting many comments:D
Horace - how rubbish of Monarch, I flew with them & had to pay that price for 2 seats & there was no booking charge either. Good luck with your [STRIKE]leching[/STRIKE] posture training ... which position will you be attempting first:rotfl:
Back later ... just popped in to see if mushrooms can be frozen as a kind neighbour left a big bag of them on my doorstep along with some apples & pears. Think I probably need to top up my karma again as it seems to have been flowing my way for quite a while now
adios xx0 -
Well hello my lovelies
or, as the posh peeps say : 'air hair lair ':rotfl:
excusez moi, les elephants roses have been trampling all over moi. Or to put it another way: je suis un petit peu !!!!ed. I didnt manage to update yesterday as it all got a bit manic here from 5 o ckock onwards. DD1 turned up with bundles of cash for me & presents for DD ( Tixy, I counted the loo rolls & she escaped with nothing :j) & then asked me to help her book a weekend break for her & 4 friends. *cackle cackle, come this way my dear to the realms of Quidco* said I
. Having earned £16.42 & the gratitude of her friends I have now offered to do all their bookings in the future
. DD1 knows all about quidco so I think she will be keen to get her laptop asap. Dammit, there are some things a mother should keep to herself. DD1 is all chuffed as she has finally had the cloned card repayments refunded :j . One less issue to deal with.
DD & Bessfriend were angelic last night but did wake up before 7 this morning . We were at chessington by 10.30 & had a really good day inspite of the chilliness. We went on all the rides we wanted to, ate enough to keep us going bought a few cheap mementoes
& had loads of fun. It cost about £ 80 but DD said it was the best birthday she'd ever had :kisses3: & Bessfriend said thank you so many times I think she really enjoyed herself too. They were an absolute pleasure to take out & we really did get a full experience so I am ignoring that DDs total birthday cost has come in at about £230 .
As of now, I have no major 'expected' expenses so can concentrate on frugality for the next few weeks.
I know that I have already overspent on the food budget for this week but have restocked on many itmes. We have plenty of basics for meals, & also all the fruit & milk we neeed for few days so as far as I can tell we will only need to restock on bread druing the next week .... we'll see .
With the onset of autumn, I'm yearning for new clothes & certainly wont manage on what I have to keep me warm, so plan to make a list of hwat I NEED & hit the charity shops next friday. I'm sadly quite excited by this. I do need to get some winter 'proper job' clothes so I wont be counting that in the clothes challenge, but as fuel is now off the treats budget. I think work clothes can replace it
.
I have walked miles today & am shattered so going to head for my bed soon & hope not be woken up to early ...
Will make more sense tomorrow

Lula - it sounds as though you had a fun day despite suffering from the excess of pink elephant juice:D
I was most miffed today as I went onto My Waitrose to discover that I have missed two vouchers: kebabs and macaroons so I emailed them and asked what was going on..I explained that I had received the fish one but that I was actually allergic to fish and seafood and couldn't use the voucher. They emailed back and asked for my address again to make sure that their mailing list was correct so that I won't miss out on any more vouchers. I am particularly miffed about the macaroons because I just adore them:D
Went to the bank and withdrew £200 and then got blown along to the post office (a mile from the bank) and handed over £117 to buy 120 euros, the rest of the money has been squirrelled away to use for food and essentials over the next month or so.
Realised today that I need to buy two new bras - one a sports bra, and some tights.0 -
Horace, my dear, are you sure that a spots bra is appropriate for leching ? Get thyself along to the La Senza sale on quidco immediately & indulge in something a little less gym mistressy & a little more 'Horace La Vamp' ish0

Morning
Just had to pop in to check that I hadnt ramble on too much last night. Both DD & I slept in a bit today & now the washing is on & we are both about to have a big tidying & decluttering session.
I think we have mischievous house sprites here who like to make a mess during the night, am sure it wasnt this bad last night.
Have done a couple more surveys & have nearly earned enough for another £10 voucher. I've also been checking out car insurance as that is due next month. Co op are currently offering £70cashback through Quidco & their quote is cheaper than what I've paid this year. I'm putting all Quidco & £2 coin savings into my Secret Savings Account. It's not really secret as I've had it for years but this is the one I will be using for any home improvements & it is funded entirely by 'free money' as in Quidco or coin savings & I may well put any gift cheques in there too; not that I'm due or expecting any . It will be interesting to see just how much I can accumulate.
On the subject of free money, DD is getting a regular income from the local phone box. She got a £1 coin last monday & another 20p on thursday :T. She also received a fair bit for her birthday & I will be putting the cheques into her savings account but will let her spend the cash. I think a new DS game is imminent.
Washing machine has completed its cycle so I'm off to make the most of the weather by hanging everything on the line.
Back later ...0
