Thanks for the tip Lexxie..I am only a C fitting and not huge fortunately (to think that in my early 20's I was a 32 AA:eek:) I am just letting it all hang out..I don't really care anymore:rotfl:
I am about ready for my break..although I did get a text this morning asking me to print out a boarding card as twit had left it at home..so I had to go onto easyjet and faff around but printed off the confirmation that he can use to check in..I am not rummaging around on easyjet's site to print off carp - he should take responsibility for himself..for gawd's sake he's a grown man not a child..if I wanted children of my own I would have had some by now and I think I am a bit too old to start being a mum especially to a 41 year old man!
Must do some ironing and then roll up the ironed trousers and bung them in my rucksack (no hold luggage for me - and this rucksack has travelled the world without any problems as hand baggage).
Am feeling thoroughly lazy today - can't be bothered to do anything, started tidying up and then went a bit light headed (my dizzy spells have started and I have no medication to stop them..need an appointment at the quacks).
Have fun...:D0 -
I like your thougts on paying the debts off shoegal. I owe my parents lots and lots and I feel that if I only pay a little then they won't feel like they're being paid back but if I keep the little to one side and throw as much as I can at it then one day I might have a significant amount to pay them.
I got all the batch cooking done, feeling very pleased even if I did nearly lose a thumb cos someone has been sharpening my knives, ok so it's barely a paper cut but it still hurts. Couldn't find any hobs or nobs but did manage some mic and vities and shall be making a start on them right about, now. :rotfl:
Hope you're enoying your weekend all and that you aren't feeling the elephant trampling today Lula. They hit me when I had my break at about 3pm0 -
I had my first bra fitting in M&S, the woman seemed to think I had no shame and wanted to measure me in the middle of the store, I can still feel the fear :rotfl: If you're above a D, I think, then Bravissimo give advice over the phone, I'm not sure what number they have, don't think it's a premium rate. Or if you have a store nearby call in, they do ask you to make an appointment but if there is no que then they will see you, or say come back in 30 mins or so and they are really really good, and you're not under any obligation to buy, I don't think, I've waited for the sales or googled my size.
I had a bra fitting in M&S a few years ago, when I was aged somewhere around 30 and size 32AA. The fitter poo-poo'd my suggestion that I'd need their teen range and put me in an obviously-too-large 32A. She kept hitching the straps up to try and stop the cup sitting proud, until I lost my patience and raised my arms overhead. The entire bra rode up so that it was sitting above my nipples ... "I don't think we have anything to fit you, madam" she sniffed. :rotfl:Declutterbug-in-progress.⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️0 -
Good evening all,
have just had a bit of a yell at DD over the state of her room - again. Have just typed out an entire book about how much it gets to me , felt better for doing that & now deleted it.
Lexxi, you are owning, running or living in pub ?:j:D You are now my best friend & I think I shall come & stay with you:rotfl:
A NSD here & thanks to some very good advice from both Shoe Gal & sarahb - both :AI am getting tough with the debts from now on but focusing on just the one. I have decided that rather than save money for a holiday / emergency I am going to use it to try to clear the debts faster. I'm fed up with the debt, the snowball says I have another 31 months to go, if I use the extra it could be gone in 22, which is my desired DFD.
I know I'm still not trying hard enough & surely the quicker they're gone the better as I clearly hate having them so much. Sounds ridiculous but sometimes I almost wish I was in more trouble, struggling to pay them & had to go on a DMP or something. It's quite hard having to discipline myself all the time. I've only used about half my available credit & the temptation to just 'go the whole hog' buy everything I want for the home & garden & more clothes, shoes & holidays etc & to hell with the consequences is very strong at times.
I still feel that I should have some emergency savings but really, as sarah pointed out, as I still have use of the card if necessary then any money I pay off it is like having the savings. I really feel that I'm now seeing the situation from a whole new perspective ... and not just the one from the bottom of my mini wine tumbler.
Have been busy all day; washing, cleaning, hobnobbbing, painting & tidying & now keen to get on with renovating my bedroom. Have also admitted that the bathroom need to be repainted soon . It's just never ending maintenance here ...

Well done on making a decision, I hope you feel happy with it? I know exactly what you mean about going on big blowouts - I have so much debt it sometimes seems like an impossible task - and I think what difference will a bit more make  I have to confess to allowing my Next account to creep up to £150 because a gave myself a couple of months off paying it in fullSometimes it's hard to walk in a single woman's shoes - that's why we need really special ones!Total debt @ Oct 2008: £29,226.42 Credit Card- £[STRIKE]7493.56[/STRIKE] - £7243.56Weightloss : 0/34lbs0

Oh yes, I'm on the last glass now, having decided that much as I love, love, love the stuff I can either enjoy drinking it every other night & take longer to clear the debts or I can ration myself to one bottle for the week ends .
Yet another day mostly spent trying to create some order out of the chaos. DD took my 'speech' to heart & was up & about clearing the debris by half eight this morning. 2 bags for the charity shop & another one of rubbish lurking within but I am not allowed to see the end result yet ... which probably means she's just shoving it all in drawers .
Anyway, I have now reassembled the chest of drawers & it looks fab, I reorganized the drwers & have stored more summery type stuff in the trunk, & can now fit my shoes in the wardrobe rather than having them scattered about the floor
. I have also painted the nasty red 60p frame from the charity shop & that too looks fab. Just need to steel myself for painting the walls & floorboards _pale_. That will probably happen round about christmas time & if anyone dares to mention that it was meant to have occurred last christmas then I shall just ignore you
;). I also need to do the hall & stairs floor again & have provisionally mentally booked that in for January when DD is on another Brownie trip. Oh the fun I have while my child is away & I am free to play :rotfl:.
On with the real business : Money transferred out of ISA & into current account, have kind of compromised & decided to 'save' £30 each month but use the other £50 for debt clearance. I also suggested to DD that rather than go abroad this year we go camping instead  Against all my hopes & expectations she agreed  even saying that she would prefer to camp than go to Eurodisney. Dammit, I now need to find a way to set fire to / lose / get moths to devour / or permanently lend out the tent.
I know, this what other DFWs do & have done in order to keep costs low & debt repayment high, but I like the sunshine & private swimming pools & mediterranean men
Hey ho, I am now a (temporarily) reformed character so have just paid £65 off the debt. I have also had another NSD :j mainly because I really couldnt get my act together early enough to get to the shops. DD can either have toast for breakfast or a sandwich for lunch tomorrow. There are only 2 slices of bread left . First thing I have to whizz to Waitrose to get more bread, milk, cheese & pasta sauce or maybe even tinned tomatoes instead ... that could be a step too far though.
Off to update my signature now ...0 -

Can't you find a middle ground with the wine? Every other day is drinking 182 times a year, once a week 52. What about every third day, making it 122 times a year - a substantial saving on every other day.
With the holidays the Sun newspaper do tokens every so often for cheap holidays - I think the £1 ones are caravanning, but there are others in basic hotels. Places like Ireland are beautiful ... otherwise last minute winter-sun? Or save your Clubcard points if you use Tesco?Declutterbug-in-progress.⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️0 -
What a beautiful sunny day :j
Fire Fox, I like your thinking on the wine, I really really do, however I need to make my wine a reward rather than a treat. I am very good at treating myselfto the extent that all the treating myself with wine, chocolate, nuts & hobnobs has led to me being at least a stone over my clothes size. I do not wish my wine consumption to become a bottle over my liver size . I could hapily drink everyday but it will make me fatter & lushier & wont help clear the debt. Frugality is the name of the game & I like to win
I've been to Waitrose& spent £ 19.06 on grocereis, which leaves me with just under £3 for the rest of the week. Frugality is happening in the food department too. I went to pick up the jar of pasta sauce, then saw a lady pick up the passata which was twice the size for the same price so grabbed one of those & also threw a four pack of tinned tomatoes in my trolley too - scaring myself now. If I didnt have access to free onions & garlic at the allotment then I dont think it would be cheaper to make my own, but as I do & my new name is Frugal Fred then I shall try it out.
I also bought some 'longlife' wholemeal bread, never heard of that before but as it was only 79p as opposed to £1.29 then we'll try it out. The low calorie cup a soup I use were on a buy 3 for 2 offer as well so saved another 65p.
I also paid DDs birthday cheque into her account but completely forgot to take the charity stuff with me .
Shouldnt have to spend any money for a few days now ...0 -
Hi Frugal Fred !
Ohh everything's sounding great!!
I had to laugh when you said about DD stuffing everything in her bedroom into drawers, I know exactly what you mean!!
You'll have to let us know what the 'longlife' bread is like, I've never heard of it before. How long is longlife in bread terms I wonder :rotfl:
I wish I had your energy when it comes to decorating, my stairs desperately need painting, only magnolia but I just don't know when I'll ever find the energy or time to do it. And as it's needed doing for about 2 years now I'm not even mentioning your walls/floorboards
Hope you have a good NSD's week and an enjoyable time at proper job againInitial Debt July 2020 - £6,772.80

Afternoon, get everyone to buy you pink ellephant for christmas then drink it till you're sick of it, and won't even fancy drinking it till your debts are cleared
Randomly I actually bought a pink elephant once, cost a weeks shopping on the basis that bread, milk etc would go off a pink elephant is for life, great investment, it's in a bin bag in my parents loft :rotfl:
I am currently living in and running a pub as of next month I will be living in, running and owning a pub, means my 4th or 5th move this year but the profits will be ours :T. The new place used to be a B&B so loadsa space to come stay Lula, except for the top 2 floors being in disrepair!
Bowski you need to practice on the painting, did I mention I was moving?
Ms Fred you're frugality and moneysaving ways have inspired me to argue with my mobile phone today as it has been charging me double, I was expecting them to say it was a horrible mistake and give me a big fat refund and alll I got was to told not to talk so much  Have changed tarrif now so will be paying £3 more instead of double, and also trying not to talk so much :rotfl:
Good luck with the next few [STRIKE]days [/STRIKE] weeks being NSD's0
