Hello my lovelies,
apologies for the absence & I do hope everyone is well & wonderful, silly me, of course you are.
I'm full of the joys of spring today :j. Work-job has been fine; Gropey on holiday & Grumpy out a lot so less pressure & I've been 'pottering' dong things that have irritated me for ages; like tidying up the stationary cupboard.
Not an awful lot of home-job work on, which actually has pleased me greatly as I really am not feeling any love for it at all, other than it is paying towards DDs fund & our trips & treats fund.
Didnt earn enough to pay anything into the bank this week & I also havent paid anything towards the debts as I am still convinced that any day now a fabulous new Virgin CC with 0% apr will slip through my letterbox & make this whole debt busting jaunt far more enjoyable :rotfl:
No, I'm not back on the booze ... yet, but I have invested in some more tonic ready for my relaunch
Ah, must just dash off & empty the washing machine, back in a few minutes ...0 -
Hello fff Lula
Nice to see you back.
Easter is coming soon and I have certain monkey and sage both coming to visit -I know it (currently) forecasts it;s going to snown down our way on Good friday ) and saturday the temperature is going to plummet to (inc wind chill factor - minus 7 .....beware your fruit trees my dear - fleece?) - but if you are up for a little trip somewhere one of those days (to see the new baby lambs maybe?)
then our chariot awaits
T'would seem inappropriate to say "keep the faith" in view of your recent pressing urge:rotfl::rotfl:...but nevertheless you are doing wonderfully well - esepcially in view of your Gordon-free month which is terrific :T:T ( I have to admit to being completely useless on that front and failing miserably
)
Onwards and upwards my dear.....you really are doing well and are focusing on handling some intensive stuff -so don;t worry about intermittant postings atm .. we'll all be here as and when IYKWIM (;))
(PS Good to hear Grumpy is AWOl atm:T:T:T)

 Damn Spammer in my PM box
Hey Wol, will be in touch as soon as I've organized myself around the relatives :silenced:
Anyway, back to where I was before the washing machine spewed forth >>>
Having spent an awful lot of the week being very healthy & virtuous I decided to be very busy with re orgainzinv home stuff & also treat myself to spot of shopping .
First stop was Eltons for a pack of dividers to divde up my numerous co op bank accounts, a cheeky 49p spent there :rotfl:.
Then into a charity shop just for a mooch about really. I found a pair of purple Next trousers ideal for work in the perfect size & length for a mere £4, they look brand new. Then I found a Top Shop top; really cute little rounded collar & 2 buttons for a paltry £2, again ideal for work & looks unworn . A further rummage unearthed a Top Shop tunic dress - perfect for going over leggings or skinny (ha - as if ) jeans for an eeny weeny £3.50, again looks hardly worn.
Cant wait to tell all over on the CCC - museumworker will be so proud of me.
My karma was obviously brimming over so I shot over to the next charity shop & the first thing I see when I walk in the door is Gok Wan s 'How to Dress' for £2.50 :T - snapped it up along with Blackberry Wine - by my favourite author Joanne Harris for £1.
Walking on air by this time so I popped into Boots to pick up some more moisturizer & remembered I had a £5 off voucher so that only cost me £16.
Then I floated over to Waitrose on my cloud of fluffy delight :rotfl: I spent rather a lot in there. The final bill came to £62.64
BUT before you all freak out & start chanting 'Tatco' at me, I would like to point out that most of this was spent on bargainous offers like:
2 x huge jars of coffee for £6 - saving £2.88,
4 x 1 litre bottles of Ecover washing up liquid for £6 saving £2.60 - should last about 6 months -
2 x 1 litre bottles of Ecover multi purpose cleaner for £3, saving £2.56, should last about a year as I only use it to wash the floors :shhh:
2 x packs of nouvelle loo roll, saving £1
2 x packs of frozen chicken breasts saving £1
2 x bag of mini eggs, saving £1.50
2 x chocolate bunnies ( should be hares) saving £1.48 &
2 x 10 packs of drinks for DD saving £1
About £20 of the total was spent on Chocolate & Eggs & another £18 was on houshold items - bargainous or not, so not quite as extravagant as it may seem.
Once all my purchases had been either stashed away or thrown in the washing machine I set about doing some chores. All rooms hoovered, hair coloured & bathroom cleaned to remove all similarities to slaughter house, washing billowing on the line & then I indulged in watching a bit of Sheep Leaping :rotfl:. I'm serious, they are so frisky at the moment every so often they just leap into the air & start cantering about, it's great.
The garden is coming to life againthe forsythia is in full bloom & there are violets popping up everywhere, daffodils are about to burst open & the hollyhocks I planted last year seem to be flourishing. I found a bag full of poppy seeds in a drawer so have sprinkled them about & hopefully a few may sprout.
DD is doing a cycling proficiency course after the hols so I've booked her bike in for service, I probably should do it myself but am not a fan of getting oily or greasy so shant.
I'm only working 3 days at work-job next week & have decided I will work at home-job the following week as it's no hassle really when not at work-job & is extra cash.
DD has chosen not to go on the weekend away trip in June, so I probably wont be painting the floors. I do plan to paint the bathroom very soon though, the colour seems very garish & needs toning down a shade or 3.
My next big decluttering mission is to sort through all my boxes of photos & minimalize them into albums. I am finding it much easier to let go of stuff these days & not be so sentimental, but sorting the photos is quite a big task emotionally & one I've been postponing for far too long. I need to do this in order to move on with my life.
I also need to go & collect DD so will love you & leave you for now

My not-officially-a-brother-in-law is Joanne Harris' gardener. Have had many freebies via him, can't say I'd go out of my way to read them though, they can be a bit odd.Saving for a Spinning Wheel and other random splurges : £183.500

Is she the Chocolat writer?
Have never read any - do you reccommend them Lula?

Glad you've had a good week
Well done on all the bargains! :j
Though no one can go back and make a brand new start, anyone can start from now and make a brand new ending0 -
Hello again,
just popping in quickly as had to c & p the spammers email for abuse team to deal with, thank you guys :A
Yes Shoe Gal, she did write Chocolat, & also 'The Lollipop Shoes' which is a kind of sequel to Chocolat & from which I reverently borrow the phrase
"Fcuk Off I'm fabulous".
As Moo said, not to everyone's taste, but I find them beautifully written, intelligent & at times darkly humourous & also the ones I've read all have have a lot of reverence for earth, spirituality & things magical & mystical.
They're certainly not your average chick lit; that just bores me rigid with it's predictability.
One of the old boys at work was grumbling about the young lads getting in his way & winding him up, I told him what to say to them& inspite of his fear of them laughing at him he actually did & they were astounded :j
My leek & potato soup is calling me so must dash, but I do think that Gordon might be popping in later0 -
