I will have to check out this range in superdrug & see if it's worthy of my name :D

I managed a complete NSD today as in spite of sending DD to the shops with £3 for suasage rolls, she completely forgot ( distracted by the sweet shop ;)) & came home with the money.

I'm still abstaining from alcohol but cannot be sure I'll make it to the end of the month, just checked my diary & it's still nearly 3 weeks away .

I've had very productive day in the garden & have been reading up on planning a kitchen garden from scratch & I dont think it will be happening this year; it seems that a scary amount of stuff is required & I'm about 6 months too late in starting. I need to decide where I'm putting those paving slabs first & then create some raised beds, find a horse to donate some manure, find the energy to dig over a 20 square metre area, buy all the extra equipment .... you know what, driving 4 miles to a ready made allotment suddenly seems less tiresome for now :o.

Hoping for another NSD tomorrow & a nice relaxing day

    bye for now
    xx

Well, that's another uneventful & fairly predictable mother s day over.

DD made me :coffee:& toast in bed & also gave me a lovely handmade card, declaring that I was the best mummy in the universe :T she also gave me a bar of galaxy  & her favourite shiny purple gogo - recent collectible pocket money absorbing [STRIKE]tat [/STRIKE] craze.

DD1 on the other hand, gave me a text at 9.45 declaring that she was working a late shift so couldnt come over but was I available tomorrow ?

Hmmm let me see, what do I normally do on a monday ... oh yes, that's right I work, just as I always have, for the last ummm errr, well about 17 years now . No point being disappointed, she'll turn up at some point bearing a gift & card & as usual I'll think to myself that there's really not much point bringing a card over days after the event. It's also quite fortunate that I hadnt decided to wait in for her & not eat in readiness for her to take me out to lunch as promised during her previous phone call :(

Anyway, I spent a very productive day in the garden; finally dug up all the weeds under the honeysuckle (& horse-shape holed) hedge & laid the final 3 rocks from the freebie stash, scattered all the poppy seeds I'd collected last year & cut back the jasmine & hydrangea. I also discovered yet another fruit bush that has spent the winter living in a watering can but has somehow survived & has buds on. It's now been planted along with the other fruity type things :).

I've also realised that the stone circle & fire pit is always going to annoy me as it's 3 feet away from where I wanted it to be. I will have to dig it up & move it, it's too close to the tree for safe fires & not level

I feel a lot better for having spent time outside, my head is much clearer, I feel more 'connected' & maybe if I do get the garden how I want it then I will be happy not to go away ... not liking the prices of holiday rentals in August :(.

Finances are ok, had an entire NS weekend :D & have just paid another £50 to Barclaycard, bringing that to £3750.

I've eaten like a peeg all weekend - DD keeps making delicious cakes - but am maintaining the daily yoga & sincerely hope all the gardening has burned a few calories.

Off to bed now as monday looms again :(

    Hi Lula

How was the dreaded Monday? :( I hate them!

    Hello lovely :hello:

Monday was actually fine, thank you. I have a new strategy for them; I dress my best, make sure the war paint is in place, nails done & hair under control. It makes me feel positive & to really get in the mood I have a 'banging choon' playing in the car ( this week it's an oldie but goodie : !!!!!! Kings - C'mon)

My grooming was so succesful this monday that one of the guys said "Wow, you're really dolled up today, are you going for an interview?" The Boss's face was a picture :rotfl:.

Grumpy has been my best friend again this week & today he actually apologised for being so grouchy at times. I replied that I was used to it & he reminded me of my Dad :p.

Monday was also a NSD, as was yesterday that's 4 in a row :j. Today I cracked though & we walked to the co op where I spent a naughty £11.45, leaving me a mere 91p for the next 2 weeks .

I did get all bargainous items though; buttery stuff for 60p so I bought 2, chicken things for £1, bread for 50p lasagne on a reduced deal for 2 etc etc. The only thing I paid full price for was cheese .

I'm not going to stress about the grocery budget & as I'm being so frugal in other ways & I'd rather not have to scrimp on the food. I do however, need to start keeping a record of exactly what items the money is going on though ... I can feel a spreadsheet approaching :o.

Yesterday I converted some lightspeed points into a £10 amazon voucher & I've also had an email from Quidco to say that £19 form the AA for home insurance has been received :D

I also took the very scary step of applying for the 0% virgin card _pale_ I only asked to transfer the Barclaycard balance as if I am accepted I will spend the next couple of months clearing the co op CC while paying the minimum on the Virgin & then attack the remainder. All this is conjecture though as I was told that they may need more information before approving or rejecting my application but would let me know within 7 - 10 days *insert impatient finger tapping smilie*. Positive vibes this way please.

Home job has been ok this week & again I have enough to pay into the cash funds for DD, clothes & trips & treats :). I'm aiming to avoid clothes shops again this week & plant to use up the garden centre vouchers instead & again use my time wisely to get all house chores done

What have you all done to me ? :D

    Hi Lula

Loving the Monday strategy :D I may have to pinch that idea, I like it! Always good to keep bosses on their toes as well ;)

I agree. I think you're being frugal enough, without stressing about groceries.

Awesome news on the Quidco cashback! I  Quidco!

    Positive vibes on their way...:)
