  • My local Semi-Chem has had Dixcel Kitten Soft 9 pack on offer for the last few weeks. It says £2.99 on the pack, but they charge only £1.99.

I think no-one much has noticed as they're at the back of the store and not that visible. ;) They have loads of Andrex at the front - £3.59 for 12. They don't seem to shift that fast either!

I ran out of this vital stuff a few weeks ago and went down the local pub on the way to the shop...spotted the nearly empty commercial roll the landlord was about to bin, and asked if he always threw them out like that? They do, saves running out and barstaff being disturbed while busy late at night...so now I get the half used ones and the odd full one which lasts ages as they are about 2 foot diameter.

I've even been given a dispenser now the pub had a refurb :D

  • Regina for me too, often on offer at Waitrose at £1.19 for 4.

    An online review .....

Regina is the queen of toilet tissues, suitable for beautiful (or even not so beautiful) bottoms everywhere. Regina is soft and thick and covered in camomile daisies. You'll be hard pressed to make holes in the tissue however hard you wipe your pretty little peaches. For queens on their thrones, even just one sheet (yes just the one) is enough to wipe the wee drops away. You will never need three sheets at once even at those times of the month (look away boys). And if you overdid the vindaloo last night, you'll still be just fine with two sheets at a time... oh listen it's all coming out in a rhyme.

Regina, queen of tissues for your pretty peach
Take your throne, compose a rhyme, sat on your royal seat
Do your stuff in rapid haste or take a good long while
Then clean yourself with regina roll and make your peaches smile. :D
    WHOOOOSHHHHHHHHH……..
    Blimey what was that ?
    That was your life mate
Oh I wasn’t quite ready can I have another go ?
Sorry mate only one per person.

FWIW I noticed Nicky paper towels in Tesco this evening. I wonder if they'll also start stocking their toilet rolls too?

  • Bought Nicky ONCE from Tesco & once only. It's NOT the same as you get elsewhere - 2 ply instead of 3 + the lot we had didn't have the added softener. It was RUBBISH compared to what we normally buy & more expensive too.

  • My late ma-in-law always insisted on Izal sheets as she said it made sure that no one used too much as it was like sand paper .My kids thought it was a hoot that Granny used tracing paper to wipe their buts with ;)

That was probably my nans reasoning for putting newspaper there.

I prefer the softer paper, even though it goes down the loo.
  • re Izal - there was a footballer who scored a goal yesterday - I was watching the scores come through on Sky Sports - and his christian name was Izale - prompted comments here - had he been named after the famous toilet paper?
    :jFlylady and proud of it:j
