I've just read this diary from the last point I contributed (about 40 pages ago). My eyes are bleeding and my mouse arm has fallen off but hey, always good to pick up with the adventures of Pickle.

Despite your ongoing battles with Boots/boots addiction (that's a two level joke ), I'm glad to see that you're still cheerful, optimistic and delightfully mad!

But for the love of God - what instrument are you talking about? I feel like I'm a new recruit to the Masons and have just been invited to the 'you know what at the nudge nudge, wink wink'

I'm sorry, but I really can't say: it's not that usual an instrument round there parts (HINT: it's a bit more usual round your neck of the woods), so if I mention it, I'm going to make myself just too conspicuous in real life.

Chutney smelled good, but I won't know how it tasted for another 6 weeks or so.

Just back from college: was pummelled to within an inch of my life!

Recipes you say? I'm an artiste - 90% of my meals are born from inspiration, eaten with a contented grin and then forgotten about - pure creativity!

I am of course joking, but I don't use many recipes. That said, I would heartily recommend Rachel Allen 'Bake' (but only if you borrow it from the library Pickle!)
