Things have been better, but they have been worse(-ish).
Just back from work. Have picked up a shift on Monday evening (4 and a quarter hours), but spent money on lunch etc. so not good in that respect. Need to get organised and sort myself out.
Must dash...need to pick up a book from a bookshop (work-experience related, might I add!)Please call me 'Pickle'

Things are better today.
It has been a busy one, though: music, work experience and work. And now a glass of wine.
And gues what? I need to sort out my finances. Whodathunkit?!Andmyroomandmylifeandmyeverything.

Baby steps dear Pickle ... good start, I see you are now off-line (it is only 22.40 in Florida and I am celebrating as we came 3rd for the second week running in the pub/chippy quiz
).
Now tomorrow, pick just one of the things you need to do (say the easiest or the quickest or the one you like worst/best) and DO IT!!! DON'T THINK ABOUT IT, SEE IF YOU CAN GET IT DONE WHILE THE KETTLE BOILS FOR BREKKIE

Well done on the pub quiz - wish I was playing with you as I LOVE pub quizes!
Have finally managed to send off the money for my posh new instrument after much phaffing around with banks. They really do go out of their way to make things as difficult as possible! So now I'm utterly broke, but I will hopefully have a nice, shiny instrument to show for it as least.
Had an awful morning this morning trying to get to an appointment waaaaaaay over the other side of town. All I will say is bl**sy sat navs!
Other than that, room still needs tidying, caramelised red onion chutney still needs making, music still needs practicing and homework still needs doing.
And that useless piece of sat nav rubbish needs updating. Grr! :mad:Please call me 'Pickle'

Evening everyone  Hope you're all well!
Sorry Pickle, not trying to hijack your thread but I know everyone's wise on here and I feel among friends so just wanted to ask for some advice.
My friend's husband died last week and I just want to send her a wee something. No flowers for two reasons: she'll have loads of them already and they'll be quite expensive (need to send to the USA). So, wise people from pickle-land, do you have any suggestions? Ideally, not more than £20-30 but if you come up with a great idea I'd be willing to spend a bit more.

And feel free to hijack away, Suzie!
I'm sorry about your friend's husband.
I think it would be a good idea to buy her something personal. What exactly that would be depends on your friend: is there something that is a 'link' between the two of you? Either that, or something that would help her at this time.
Best of luck. I'm sure you will hit upon the perfect item that will make her realise you are thinking of her at this sad time. :T
