Music lesson today: went into work straight after to find that my hours for today had been changed without consulting me , and that I have indeed been blasted straight down to my contracted number of hours as seemed to be the threat, so I need to get something else as that's an untennable financial position in which to find myself. Despite that, feeling strangely positive in life. Go figure. :)

Nighty night. Off to Bedfordshire. :)

That's a good idea! The only problem is that I have so much paper between uni notes, books, letters etc. that I could conceivably spend more than a year decluttering it all if I did it bit-by-bit. ;) And, of course, I'm not married so I don't have an anniversary to declutter for, but hey ho, that means I don't have a husbands stuff to make even more of a mess, so it's not all bad! :D;)

You don't have to be married, so you can't use that as an excuse :)

You only spend one week on each "anniversary" and then you loop round till done

I have chucked all my uni notes away after keeping them in boxes for 9 years, looked at a few subjects and didn't understand any of it, so into the recycle bags it went. I can't think when I will need harmonics in signal processing again :rotfl:

    Drat! Foiled again! :rotfl:

I'm still a bit afraid to throw the rest of mine out. I already had a big sort out of stuff I know I won't need again, but the rest seems like it might be needed in the future. That's two big boxes full: imagine what it was like before!

Ah well, should get with getting rid of the stuff I can get away with at the minute. I just had a big sort out a declutter of the simply stupid number of pens/pencils etc. that I have, and have given the massive surplus away, so it's getting there. Very slowly! :)

And what is signal processing, Radish? Sounds technical...*insert geeky smiley*

  • Hello, Dont want to sound too familiar in first comment on your diary but....

Chuck 'em! I held on to my uni notes for 7 years after my degree, and I work in (very loosely) in a field connected to my degree. A whole cupboard was taken up with dusty notes that I didn't look at between leaving uni and chucking the notes out. On the final day of keeping them I finally snapped and thought "most of it is written from text books etc. All my essays are on discs (which i've since lost lol). And if I really need that info again, which i more than likely wont then I can nip down the library or search the internet to find out what I want to know. But at least i'll have a nice big cupboard to fill with other rubbish instead"

Oh and PS: Its been over a year now and I have still not required anything from the notes that I couldn't find out somewhere else. (ok I no longer have the cupboard, but then at least i don't have to cart dusty files round from one address to another.)

I am for my sins a tech geek, my degree was in Electrical Engineering,

And for the life of me I can't remember anything on that topic, apart from there being lots of maths

Eee by gum: that's just the lack of familiarity I like to hear! :D

 Welcome, iwantahome (I do, too, BTW)! Feel free to drop by more often. Cafe Pickle does a whole range in sandwiches (no pickle on the sandwiches, though: that's cannibalism), cakes, hot and cold drinks and fluffy cushions. Come round whenever you like! :)

  • Not sure how we got onto the topic of uni notes. I graduated 3 years ago and this summer I chucked the notes...................I did go thru the stuff that is related to the field I work in and frankly it was all out of date! I sold the books on Amazon and made a tidy profit. I did keep a fob with the essays and I have I used them in my post grad, have I hell!

    So get chuckin' lovie!
