did you get the job
Sorry, Taxi, I think you got the wrong end of the stick *Takes stick off Taxi, turns it round and gives it back to her*. I haven't had an interview for the other job. I don't currently know when it will be: that particular company are being quite cagey about interview dates as I think there are a lot of things going on behind-the-scenes before they get to that stage.
*Taps foot impatiently*
Just getting ready for work. Today might be unpleasant. Please call me 'Pickle'

I've been very quiet this past few days (on my own thread, at least!
) as there has been a huge amount going on and I've not quite known what to say.
Work has been mostly horrendous: a supervisor completely lost the plot with me for no reason, knew (s)he had gone WAY overboard and then tried to veiledly threaten me not to take it any further. Yeah, right: like I'm going to put up with that, and the supervisor knew it! The boss was not in work for a few days at that time, so when it came to sorting it out (s)he got in there first on a day I wasn't in. When I eventually got to speak to him about it, it was evident that he didn't give two hoots about the rights and wrongs of the situation (and this was one of the few times of a real, clear-cut right/wrong situation I've ever seen in the workplace, with witnesses to prove it as well), so long as it basically went away. He even went so far as to suggest that I should apologise to the apologise to the supervisor for (very) allegedly speaking to her in an inappropriate tone of voice, despite a distinct lack of evidence that such a thing ever happened (cos you can't prove a lie), and the fact that said supervisor had basically confessed nearly all to him previously, therefore admitting guilt, but managing to omit the juciest bits that made him/her look at his/her worst.
I'm therefore furious on two counts: 1) the initial incident; 2) the way it has been handled. As far as I am concerned, if someone does something completely out-of-order like that (whatever their position in a company), they should AT THE VERY LEAST be forced to apologise for it, if disciplinary action is not forthcoming.
As a result, I'm really, really looking to get out. Waiting for The Big Job, with the indetermined interview and start dates (should I get that far), is not an option. Some agency jobs (for which I am registering tomorrow) are looking good and better paid than my current position, but they are agency jobs and therefore, by definition, are transitory and indeterminate in length. This is a worry, but I get the distinct feeling that if I don't do this now, I never will, especially as the boss made what I think was a veiled allusions to me perhaps getting promoted after Christmas, which would mean I would be more comfortable where I am and less likely to leave. I think this was a nudge from The Universe (go check out Memory Girl's thread, those of you who don't know what I'm talking about), should The Universe deserve capitalisation, or indeed, give nudges. Carpe diem*.
Have been busy in general: care of diet and finances have decreased as levels of stress have increased...get paid on Thursday, want to book a few days away if possible as I really, really need a break, need to get skinny before my 30th, need to get my room and life back to operational organisation and since Picklemum has just gone on holiday for the best part of a month, need to get life in the Picklehouse as near to in order as possible, recruiting Picklebrother along the way.
MSE-wise, I've bought a few Christmas presents and Christmas present constituents along the way, as well as Picklebrother's girlfriend's birthday present (at a bargain price). I bought a whole Tesco's worth of reduced fruit/veg/meat/random tasty stuff, didn't win the EuroMillions lottery, am going to eat dinner at my best friend's on Friday night in round two of out Come Dine With Me stylee dinner parties (without the !!!!!y scoring
), and have restarted music lessons and need to practice massaging a bit more.
Other than all that, it quite boring.
Things are changing. But not fast enough. I'm just hanging on to get The Big Job, but I had better get it, else everything will have been in vain. And that is not an option.

Sorry to hear things are bad at work and think it's time to get out of there for your own sanity...you've been unhappy there for a long while and the stress must be awful0
-
Thanks, Taxi. Funnily enough, the stress isn't too bad cos everyone thinks it's all over and done with, but it's not - by a long - shot cos if there ever comes another time when I need my boss to back me, I already know that (s)he won't, rather look for the easiest way out of the situation.
However, I still need to vamoosh from there. And I will.
(P.S. Like the figures in your sig. Very nice. You wearing them to the MSE Christmas party?)

Challenge = Debt at 31/01/12 = £25k. 2011 Payments = £1,944.19/£24,403.84
There is no point in negative thought, it takes up time and energy which could be used in a positive, happy way!

In limbo for the best new job due to stupid reasons, have one other job undertaken and am therefore horribly busy: today was my first day off after a 9 day straight stint. Hope to maybe hear about the best new job (not The Big Job, which is still lurking in the future) tomorrow.
I hope I hear one way or another: the waiting if proving difficult, more for practical reasons rather than I'm being impatient. It's requiring a heck of a lot of juggling. It can't go on for long like this, else the whole house of cards will end up tumbling down round my feet.
Busy times.Please call me 'Pickle'
