    Hey guys,

Right, the social scene has just gone off the scale at the minute: was at a 30th party last night, going out for dinner today (if I ever get out of my blummin' PJs!), my birthday next weekend, going to the Midlands for a friend's children's christening the weekend after and I have to clean this house from top to bottom today as Picklemum's back from her jaunt soon, and the place is a TIP!

I found out on Friday that I didn't get the French-speaking job, which is a pity. I asked about feebback and was told that one of the other candidates came across as 'more ambitious' and that The Boss felt he would be able to go further and do more with her. Given then fact that I had 12 hours to prepare for the interview, and I know she will have had over a week, plus the fact that in another job interview I had a few months ago the company in question felt that I was 'too ambitious, and would get rapidly bored in the role' depsite aceing the tests and presentations, I have to wonder: how do I win?!

To be honest, in some ways I'm not that bothered cos I had started to ask myself that if they were messing me around as much as they did in order to tell me whether or not I got the job, I imagine it would have been much worse if I actually worked for them, but the day I ought to have heard about it, the place I currently work started messing me around again, so I had decided to take the leap of faith it I was offered the job. Ah well...back to the drawing board.

In the meantime, I treated myself to an expensive new haircut as I needed a change and wasn't getting a bad one, IYKWIM, and also bought two dresses for all the forthcoming social events. They will see me through Christmas, so that's good, and I managed to get a 10% discount off the haircut, and 20% off the GORGEOUS dresses, so that's something. Alas, I had to buy the disgustingly expensive conditioner again, but I'm still working on a cheaper alternative. And I hope to have my hair highlighted this week. A nearly-30 crisis? Me? No!

Car tax also due this month. Savinge depleted, going to have to start again next month (), and have bought some Christmas presents, so it's not all bad. Ish. Honest!
