Hia Rupe
Just found this on one of my rare MSE visits and want to say - Good luck honey! xxxxxxxxx0 -
Just a thought, but could you not stay at your job and potentially become manager, and study with open university, if they do the mystery course. It might take you longer but it means you are earning also.0

Hey Rupe,
Found your diary too, intrigued with the course! Good idea about the Open Uni! Will subscribe right now x0 -
morning dudes! Nice to see you Swinstie - and of course RR!!
Open Uni would be an option - but they don't do the course I want. Various colleges offer distance learning - but I think I would go bonkers if I tried to work full-time, and study and look after my rugrats (two of whom have a much better social life than I do!). I know some people do it, and I really take my hat of to them - but it would be too much for me personally.:o
We shall see - on the money front:...
Yesterday I sent off a cheque to clear the Capital One balance - da da da:j
And today was going to be a non-spend day....but my mum is ill and as we gave whatever she has to her at the weekend, I'm thinking a nice big bar of Galaxy plus Lemsip is called for to make up for it.Onward and upward - with the odd step to the side

Rupe what about doing the degree part-time and working part time. Would that be something your company would let you do??
xxxx
I’m back and more determined than ever!!!!!0 -
I was also going to suggest doing the part time thing, it might be worth considering. Put it to your boss, there's no harm testing the water.0

A promotion and a payrise would certainly be difficult to say no to hun. I bet you could find somewhere that does distance learning, whatever the course (unless its choreography...) I am actually starting to be very inspired by your want to learn more! I think I might do it once my debt has been paid off. I've always had an interest in history but never taken it seriously.End of 2010 I was £8,007.66 in debt
Today's total: £7,297.06

Ebony - the degree that I have is in contemporary history (1850 to present day) - I LOVED it. :jIt was so brilliant - and if I hadn't gotten pregnant with rugrat number 2 right at the end of the course, I would probably have stayed on and done a masters. The OU deffo do history courses (and loads of other things that look so interesting) - so I would definately say look into it!Onward and upward - with the odd step to the side

Sorry you guys - can't stop posting now:D
Told my mum about my dilemma today - its an incredibly flattering thing, the manager thing. Kind of laughable to think of me being a manager of anything(!) - I can't even keep my clothes organised, never mind loads of people! I will explain what I want to study and why - but you will probably all think I'm bonkers - so I've got to get brave:rotfl:
But it will explain why this is such a difficult choice to make. Also there is no rush to decide anything - but I feel like I want it all sorted in my head asap
OK boring life waffle over - money has continued to flow from my bank balance like water today - this week has been our most expensive week for ages (typical as I decide to get serious eh?).Onward and upward - with the odd step to the side
