I already know about the 12 months catch, so that's a bit of a hard one to get around as I don't want to be without broadband as we have a bundle with them.
We couldn't put it in my name as I wouldn't pass the credit check, not because of debt or anything but because I'm one of the lucky ones who's never been in debt, don't have a credit card, no loans etc, so in their eyes I'm not good as there's no proof I'd pay anthing back. Daft eh.
I checked with my friend who recieved a letter from Sky about upgrading to Sky+ and their offer was a free box and £20 installation. Work that one out? The letter said it was due to being in one of the latest digital switchover areas, well so am I.
I'm going to give it a week or so and then I'm going to ring on a Tues or Wed and see what happens.
So peeps, what exactly have you said to get the free box?
have you been with them for longer than 12 months or not?
if not it's like any other contract, until you elapse this time they have more power0 -

Best advice I could give is to try again tomorrow, sometimes it really does just depend on who you speak to, got 3 rejections myself before I got the right deal when moving up to HD - that was four phonecalls on the same day, 3 were a disaster and the fourth was just such a nice helpful person.
Go figure. :j

just rang them up and currently paying £28-29 for 2 variety pack and midi broadband
asked to cancel and got two options given to me:
1) go to base broadband and pay £13-14/month
or
2) sky+ box at £44 all in
i might have been able to push for sky+ box cheaper but couldn't be bothered to ring up and waist my lunch breaks so went with it and took my broadband midi to base and now paying £18-19.
so a saving of £10 a month with a one off cost of £44.0 -
the guy also told me i couldn't have option 1 and 2 at the sametime and to try back later (a week or so) and see if they can do anything, has anyone managed to get both?0

We've been with Sky for over 12 months now, it's probably nearer two years. So I'd like to think I'm classed as a valued customer but I certainly don't feel it.
I haven't rang them this week as I'm still to angry to speak with them.0 -
I have just gone back to Sky after 5 yrs. I am not a new customer so couldn't get the deals. He offered me SKY+HD box a one off payment of £49.00 Sky Movies and Variety packs of my choice for £43.25 per month Plus £50.00 vouchers tp spend at Tesco ,even though I didn't do it on-line.!
I am quite happy with that , coming next week to install F.O.C. too.
The reason I went to Sky was because I am missing so many of my favourite things on T.V. as I have no recorder that saves to the hard drive which is what I wanted. You live..You learn.:)0
