Morning All, weather looks promising at the moment ,not too hot but sunny with a slight breeze, just how I like it.Well September has come rushing around again and no doubt that big 'C' word will be featuring in the shops. It seems I have barely put my Decorations away than its time to find them again.I do 'crafting' at a local little club that several like minded ladies run and already we are sorting out our cards for Christmas. I have done about a couple of dozen so far for my youngest DD and will do some extras for my grandchildren to send to their friends. My own ones for this year were done and put away in February of this year, nothing like being prepared. Once the children are back to school it a case of list making, and working out what gifts to get and for whom.
I must admit the preparation does brighten up the long dark winter nights.Already the nights are drawing in,it was quite dark by just after 8 last night.
Today I am taking my youngest DD to Maidstone as she wants to get some last minute school shopping for the boys. yesterday my lovely neighbour tidied up my garden for me and its looking really nice so I may keep an eye open for some bulbs for my pots as most of my bedding plants have seen better days now.
Hope everyone has a good Monday and gets their washing dry

Happy Anniversary - 30 years is a huge achievement!
Definately having an OS day today as both DS were up until after 8.30 last night. Eldest is 5. He very kindly decided to bleach the bathroom floor and toilet for me last night by emptying a full bottle of toilet cleaner all over the floor! GRRRRRR
So today am stripping all the rooms in the house back to basics and putting ANYTHING I don't want them to touch behind cupboard locks. I thought we'd passed this a while ago! Have to take puppy to vets for vaccinations and then having a VERY simple day otherwise I'll blow a gasket!Me, OH, grown DS, (other DS left home) and Mum (coming up 80!). Considering foster parenting. Hints and tips on saving £ always well received. Xx
March 1st week £80 includes a new dog bed though £63 was food etc for the week.0 -

Morning all,
Happy Anniversary to the Aussies , are you celebrating a la Hester ???
Beatuiful day here, changed all the bedding yesterday, so have three loads to wash, will get them all on the line.
Yesterday we spent most of the day in the garden, I gave it a huge tidy up, any of the pots where the bedding plants had died, got emptied and stored ready incase we ever move , cut the grape vine back a bit, next door planted it, and I am not sure I would ever plant one again, unless I wanted very quick cover it has just taken over, and within another year, it would have swallowed up my passion flower. We mowed strimmed and edged all the grass, so looking good out there.
Today I need to give the house a good going over, and go and get dd's train ticket for next term, she does not start back till monday, but I am back at work tomorrow, so need to get sorted today.
Dinner tonight is chilli and rice, veggie chilli for dd. I may attempt my grape jelly today too, the vine is groaning under the weight of them.
Have fun all xx0 -
Good morning from the Isle of Wight!
This is my first post, not sure if it is ok to post here or not?
New to this money saving business but trying my best, spent way more than I planned at Tesco's on Sunday but then we only go about once a month with the usual top up shopping in between... need to cut down on that
So a couple of weeks ago I managed to make a chilli from scratch and I have two portions in the freezer for another time :T also a friend gave me lots of green beans from his garden so they have been frozen, also a lot of conference pears which I have chopped up and microwaved & frozen to make into crumbles.
Made my first ever cottage pie from scratch on sunday, was big enough for me and the OH to have a large portion each plus two portions now in the freezer. I'm not very good at keeping the shopping bill down yet but at least I am learning to make home made meals
So anyway Hello everyone I would appreciate any advice you have to give!£2 Savers Club 2011 (putting towards a deposit

Hey guys - can I join in??
I tried to be OS in the past then shift changed, life got in the way etc and I think things will be getting back to normal over the next few weeks - back to day shifts and both LO's in school!!
I made chicken stock in the SC last night and am wondering if I can freeze it into icecube trays and then tip into a freezer bag when frozen for those times when I just want a bit of stock?? Would this work? I'm also into my smoothies atm but don't have much idea of what to make?
Many thanks
Gert xMade it - 15 years married!! Finally!! xx:beer:0
