We have been debating about completely tiling the lounge floor.

We have a small cottage and 11 dogs :eek: so were wondering if this could be the answer. We know we would have to put down rugs in the winter. Anyone else got floor tiles throughout?

I don't have them throughout but have them in the hallway, kitchen and by the back door. They're very hard wearing (some sort of blue stone) and clean up nicely with my 3. My giant is a drooler so I have to mop up quite a bit LOL

we have laminate and rugs. Some of the rugs are able to go in the washing machine and I have a george washer to do the larger ones. Id rather be able to wash the floors to keep the house fresh.

I have cork flooring. In my opinion it combines the best of the two worlds:
It feels soft and warm when compared to laminate/hard wood (of course carpets can be softer, depending on the carpet type), but cleaning is as easy as laminate.
It has a structured surface, so the dog does not slide much (more than on carpet, but much, much less than on laminate).
And because it is quite soft the 'clip clop' is virtually non existent.

Whenever the dog comes in with muddy paws (or vomits as some days ago) I'm very happy that I just have to get the mob and it is clean again.
