Spud I think we would all like to give them more than we can but the truth is that you might not be able to give them materialistic things but you can sure give them everything else (which is more than a lot of parents do)

    thanks Sal :kisses3:

    I'm feeling really bleurgh today.

I feel like I'm letting the kids down, not being able to get them 'stuff'. DD would love a laptop, so she can do homework in her room etc, DS is about to start high school so will no doubt also have loads of homework to do soon. I can foresee big rows on puter time, with me probably having to miss out on time here. Need to find a bargain laptop - maybe on BOGOF

Please forgive me for intruding but just an idea which may or not work for you regarding a laptop, of course I do not know your income details, but it may be an idea to buy one from cdiscount.co.uk (or com) as you can buy one and spread the payments over 3 months, if you buy at the right time it is a whole month between the 1st and 2nd payment. Your order has to be over £100 which will be easy due to buying a laptop/netbook and there are no credit checks which is a bonus. Also, there is usually a discount code knocking about somewhere or credit to your account (for next order).

I'm not at all technically minded, and havent a clue what mobile broadband is or what we'd need to do

    I is fick
OK. Let's give it a bash!

I assume you have broadband at home? This basically gives you internet access using your landline telephone service. Data is sent over the phone lines in the same way as voice calls are.

NOW, what mobile broadband is is very much the same except it all works off mobile phone networks. So while a mobile phone send voice calls over the 'airwaves', it does the same for data. Do instead of plugging your router at home into your phone line to access the internet, your computer uses the mobile phone networks to do the same.

So basically all exactly the same except.... no wires!

Awwww Spud - I think we all have days like that. Is there any room in your budget to start saving towards one of the £9.50 sun holidays when they next crop up?

It's hard to strike a balance between clearing debts and remembering to have fun before they're all grown up and gone.

Me and my friend do the cheap Sun holidays, they're brilliant!
We've booked another next year at Haggerston Castle for £19.50 :T

We went to a place called Creswell Towers in Northumberland this year, (pictures on facebook)
weather was gorgeous and we had a fantastic time, the girls thought it was a huge adventure staying in a caravan, site was beautifully clean and staff were very polite.
They mixed up the caravan that we were supposed to stay in and quickly offered us £30 of vouchers to spend in the bar/restaurant which made it even more MSE. :money:

It's easy to give in to that negative voice that chants "cant do it" BUT we lift each other up.
We dont count all the runners ahead of us & feel intimidated.
Instead we look back proudly at our journey, our personal struggle & determination & remember that there are those that never even attempt to reach the starting line.

Maz you're a star. You give love like your heart is a bottomless purse xxx

I have finished surfing for interview. Will rewrite notes late so a) I can read them tomorrow on train and b) they go in better. I'm almost ashamed to say I found the budget summary quite interesting!
