We dont count all the runners ahead of us & feel intimidated.
Instead we look back proudly at our journey, our personal struggle & determination & remember that there are those that never even attempt to reach the starting line.0 -

I will second that! Especially as Waltham is not near Walton at all, so could have been difficult to navigate there without a Tom Tom.
We went to London last week and because the Tom Tom had died just before we left, we got incredibly lost and on a boiling hot day it wasn't fun!OD [STRIKE] £2600 [/STRIKE] £0 :j Loan [STRIKE]£9500.00[/STRIKE] £0 :j Car [STRIKE]£3150[/STRIKE] £0 :j Moving Costs [STRIKE]£1300[/STRIKE] £0 :j Savings £1150 :j

I can't cope without my Tom Tom, I love it.
Also great because the kids can see the expected time of arrival which cuts out the "Are we nearly there yet?" questions

Straight down the A14 - done it a few times now. Had to learn quick as my TomTom died last time. Didn't know about the reset button. :rotfl:

Trouble is that I see it as a challenge to get there faster!

Bookie ~ Hows life?
I think the problem now is that teens expect to have a lappy, ipod ect.
I have spent over £150 on uniform for DS going in to fifth year, school has been back for 2 weeks & have had to pay £35 on trips he has to go on.Difficult when you dont have it so I see where you are coming from Spud.Hugs.I am a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Mortgage Free Wannabe & Local Money Saving Scotland & Disability Money Matters. Hi Beanie.
Life is sort of ok. Could get eto not working but need the income.
(Bookie is not really worried sick!)
I have some lovely friend and family who are being very supportive.0 -
I agree about kids 'expecting' everything now a days...But I think it is more indicative of parenting than the actual children-we 'think' they 'need' these things because other kids have them and so the cycle continues. I get sad when I see other kids dressed in gorgeous clothes and my kids are decked out in George and Cherokee but that's my issue, not theirs...Empty pockets never held anyone back, only empty heads and empty hearts can do that -Peale0

Yep, kids were definitely upset, particularly Ryan who kicked me so hard I hit the floor in tears, and then Natasha decided it was a good game and started trying to rip handfuls of my hair out.
And having spent the last two hours cleaning the living room, Natasha has just covered it in crumbs and spilt juice because I stupidly took my eye off her for a minute to put the last few things away.
Really could just hide away somewhere and cry for a bit, but so much still to do. Grrr, i haven't felt like this for ages.
Not going to get down about it all though, have a lovely evening to look forward to tomorrow, going for a loooooooong  run with Mr Sunday and then we are going to get royally pished (he thinks he will be able to drink me under the table....we will see...).
Right, time to put the kids to bed. No doubt for round two of 'Where's Daddy'."I wasn't wrong, I just wasn't right enough.":smileyhea97800072589250 -
