Well, just back from a weekend away and get this guys, although we booked b and b - I didnt go into breakfast on the two mornings. I knew if I saw all that bacon, sausage, fried bread etc. I wouldnt be able to resist, so I sat in the room with my dogs whilst OH went on his own to eat - he did bring me back a piece of toast this morning though
Afraid on the way back we did stop at a service area and I bought a (small!) beefburger - thats all I asked for but the guy put in a bag of chips and I ate half of themBut I think the amount of walking we did must surely counter balance that sin.
We shall see in the morning when I weigh myself at my usual time.
Good luck for weighing. FWIW I'm having a fried or poached egg on toast daily. Not only is it easy, cheap and low cal (calorie counter suggests there is only 20 calories difference in the fired egg, and I ''fry'' fat free in a non stick pan) but while DH is home Its easy to make him a full english and to have a reduced but similar meal.
Likewise, for supper I trnsgressed and had pasta, but I'd had asmall amount were as he, the gutso, has eaten scary amounts. Ashe is slim and I'm not he'sdoing something right!0 -
Woo hoo, not an ounce put on this morning
Cor, it does boost me for the day when I get a good weigh in in the morning, I feel quite perky.

I did one of my dog walks at the normal time, bathed two horses and took them for another walk (the old girls love a change of scene) and have blackmailed DH into doing an exercise video with me for encouragement this afternoon, then we've decided to take the other dogs (our dogs who didn't walk with us and he other dogs this morning) for a really long lead walk on roads, whch is better exercise because I can walk faster. We checked the fenceline in the to main fields and washed out two feild waterers.
All before ten am, and coming in twice for cups of coffee
I just love the feeling of having done almost everything I have to do so early.
This week is going to be another good week.
Wowza - how many animals have you actually got :eek:Do not meddle in the affairs of Dragons, for thou art crunchy and good with catsup

Funny thing was Dragon, I think I am actually getting the idea that because Ive paid for it, doesnt mean I have to clear the plate.
We had dinner in the hotel the first night (with the dogs at our feetand it was a steak and ale pie with new pots and vegs. I actually took off the pastry and laid it on the side of the plate (though it looked gorgeous) and I ate half the meat inside the pie and the dogs got the rest. We had summer pudding with one scoop of ice cream for desert and I ate the icecream and half the pudding and gave it to my OH to finish.
I think the biggest thing in this slimming business is your mind set. You dont HAVE to eat everything on the plate. Also I try to imagine how I will feel if I do clear everything on the plate. Bloated, guilty, miserable and I balance that against how good I feel for the day when I actually weigh in and Ive lost weight.
It is hard but when you get to the point that your auntie (who we went to visit) is offering to take in your trousers ("they look so loose on you dear, they may fall down"), then it makes you even more determined.
Good luck everyone. Keep on truckin.0 -

The rule is we won't count till we've bought a house.I have a few horses out on loan who'll probably only come back to me for retirement and we are trying to delay buying new riding horses until a. I'm slim enough to get a little one:D and b: we are settled. Same with poultry, I almost came home with a dozen guinea fowl a few weeks ago but relaistically, our flock is small enough to be easily movable, and we don't need more till we move.:o
But dogs, we have one-three (we have one and live with my parents who have two, and we may well take one or both of their dogs with us when we buy) but I walk a friends dogs too, so I walk upto 11 dogs on a normal day, but in two groups (though ours are better going out twice day than once a day, so three walks). I used to walk mine with the other dogs, but a new dog has made this difficult ATM.0 -

I always try and leave something, anything on the plate, even a tiny thing. Its so ingraind in us, in this culture, to clean our plates that its hard to do other wise.
I'm also a big fan of the small plate and ATM I'm using a small blue bowl that I think is about tummy sized. If I can't tell fom how i feel I have to use other things till I can tell myself whether I'm satiated or not.

This half a stone a month idea is a great way to go! Halfway through the month, I know, but can I join you please?
Back to work tomorrow after a fortnight's hols so back into routine. Bought some new scales (overcharged by £3 for them in Tesco, so after double the difference back, they were more of a bargain!), tucked them away in the wardrobe to be brought out for a twice weekly weigh-in on Mondays and Fridays (to keep me on the straight and narrow at the weekend, I hope!).
Weighed in this morning and my goal for the rest of this month, is to shed the extra 5 and a half pounds that has crept on and snuggled around my middle since the end of May.
Aiming to knock the casual wine drinking and the unplanned snacking habits on the head this week; need to get a bit more discipline in place!
Away we go!0 -
