Hugs Aussie. I could probably lend you a 4 year old for a few days if you weren't so far away. He would love a ninny like you.

Well it's day 3 of "operation sleep wars" and I woke up first this morning at 6:15 :T. Ds woke at 6:35. Fingers crossed that we have broken the early habit.

Today we will be making bread. Our iced shortbread from yesterday vanished like snow on the sun at my friend's grandaughters birthday party. I have saved some biscuits for ds to ice today for himself, so that should keep him quiet for all of 5 minutes :rotfl:

NPM Hugs to you too. I used to look after my neighbours son when I was 14, he had many of the same problems as N. It's hard work alright.

    Take care all of you

    Morning all,

Was bright here first thing, but is now clouding over , we got back at lunch time yesterday, and unpacked and put the first wash on. I have the second one in now, have another two to do, but wont risk doing anymore, as I am sure its going to pour down.

My cucumber plants did not last the week, I put them both in a bucket of water, but I think it may have been too much for them, my toms needed a big drink, but seem to have perked up, and my pepper plants have done well too, I have eight peppers nearly ready :T, I also have the biggest glut of chillis ever, will ave to start looking for ideas to preserve them.

I am going to nip out later and get a happy chicken to roast, I have carrots, runners and french beans in my freezer from the garden, so just need to do the potatoes, dd will have a veggie option from the freezer.

Aussie, I hope you are not too sad that your dgs has gone home xx

Cranky, I am sooo glad operation sleep wars appears to be over, fingers crossed xx

Noasmum, hang in there hun xx

DD is off out with her dad today, so OH and I will go walking, little dog was very pleased to see us, but both she and I have widened at the waist :o, so need to get walking it off.

    Have good days all xx

    Morning everyone :hello:

Dry here so far but I don't trust it  Our foraging expedition was rained off yesterday so we spent a bit of time shopping and OH did some more DIY. I finally gave in and bought a TV for our bedroom so he spent all afternoon in the loft connecting that.

I had to lay some mousetraps yesterday as we have a resident rodent in the utility room and one in the greenhouse who is eating my toms. I will only use live humane traps so we had to buy more of those. Unfortunately the one in the greenhouse has worked but the wee thing appears to have died of fright anyway  So much for trying to be nice to mice :o.

I need to spend some time in the garden today and finish some knitting. OH has declared that we are going to a carvery for lunch as he wants me to have a day off from roast cooking so I've just put a ham hough on to boil to turn into soup for tea tonight with some HM bread.

Cranky I hope you get some decent sleep soon. I remember it well.
Aussie....Hope OH manages to distract you from missing DGS :p.
Beth....Sorry I forgot to welcome you back yesterday. I hope all is well with your brothers. xxx
NPM... try not to worry about the MRI. I've had a few now and they really are ok. x
Celyn..hope you're ok. You sounded stressed last week. Did you send Reverbe some jewelery as I know she asked if you did commissions? She's been asking who sent it as she can't remember:confused:. Just thought it might be you. ;)

    Have fun everyone

    Morning all,
A day off from feeding the ever hungry cement mixer that we have had on hire for 3 wks. Still lots to do on converting the barn into a conservatory.

Have a joint of beef cooking and veg prept for dinner. A pan of spicy carrot, tomato and lentil soup cooling ready to portion and freeze. BM just pinged.
DGD2, 5mths old, fed washed and dressed ready to take her home this afternoon.

Have to move a pile of bricks out of the drive ready for two 10"x10" 6 mtre oak beams being delivered tomorrow, managed to find them at a reclamation yard, sort of re-cycling in my mind.

Going to meet our DF today, we always meet at our local for a Sunday lunch time drink, she is mid way through her 2nd bout of chemo. She popped in y/day as she wanted me to find some bandana type head scarfs online and found some great ones at urbanturban, we had such a laugh as I tried to measure her head with a metal tape, couldn't find my cloth one.

Anyhoo, enough twaddle from me, bet you're wishing now that I had stayed AWOL a bit longer.

MSD So pleased to hear that Tristan is still here for you to chat with, even though he's a grumpy old what's it.

SMOKY Hi, I see you are back also. :j

Overcast here today, just waiting for a visit from DD, DSIL & DGK's, no idea what time as things are a bit chaotic.
Not a lot got done yesterday afternoon as I was really dizzy, I battled on altering some clothes for as long as I could, but eventually gave in & went to bed, it was like being drunk, felt worse when I closed my eyes, lol.
    Have a good day everyone.
    Hugs Hester

Hugs to everyone not feeling well.

We are going to visit an elderly relative in hospital later so will make an early lunch.

Batter for yorkies is in the fridge and lamb is in the slow cooker.

Turns out auntie has broken her hip and they will need to operate on it. She has also pulled out her feeding tube again so not sure what they will do about that.

Have washed some more nightiesfor her and will take them up with us.

Need to go and get veg sorted so see you all later.Have just ordered Economy Gastromy for £10 with free postage so that might give me some inspiration.

    Hugs to all
