I brought some long grain rice a bag of veg that steams in the microwave (Cos of work) and a mini fruit salad (because i wont eat a whole bag of apples and that xx and it costs 6 pound x

  • Hi junior j

I have been on various big drives to take food in from home to work in the last couple of years and have picked up some tips (generally following 'how the blooming hell am I going to cook/heat this up?' type thoughts)

If you get normal veg, prep and then put in a bowl with a small amount of water in the bottom and a loose lid on (a plate works well on a china bowl) and microwave that it will do the same job, you might want to drain the veg and then put onto a bit of kitchen towel if you don't want it soggy. It even works for potatoes but you probably don't want to mix types of veg, ie either do potatoes/sweet potatoes/swede or do things like peas and brocolli but both together might not work so well

Buy apples and other fruit from market stalls or from the loose trays in supermarkets and you can get as many as you want for less, prepped fruit is soooooooo expensive isn't it

  • Good morning all - been a while since I have been on but i pinky promise that I have been adding to my tin on a regular basis - its so heavy!!

Only 1 week till opening - I am so tempted to open the tin early, I feel like I am having 2 Christmas days this year !!! :rotfl:

I would like to say thank you to you all for keeping me motivated and more importantly keeping me saving I have never managed to do this in the past. Also I will be paying off 1 of my credit cards next week - I have been working on this all year and it feels good to get it off my back - only 1 to go and that is my challenge for next year along with another sealed pot - so please, I need your help again.

Take care everyone - cant wait for the 1st xxx

7 DAYS TO OPENING DAY :j (1 WHOLE WEEK!) CAN WE COPE?
    8 DAYS TO SEALED POT CHALLENGE # 3 ;)
    Good Morning everyone,
 1 week to go! Hope everyone's getting excited :j, the grand opening is nearly upon us :D. If you haven't had much luck with your potty this year, make a New Years resolution to yourself to do better (and if you need to break into it, at least you've saved it) we don't judge anybody who needs to use their sealed pot :D

Have a safe day, try and stay dry, keep saving and stay safe.
