I'll admit to being a bit carp at this saving lark, partly because I'm usually skint and need every coin available, plus as soon as the kids see money they want it for their money boxes, they've got more change than me!

When I first joined this challenge I was really good and even got the kids to decorate an Amazon delivery box from last xmas, we taped it up and put a coin hole in it.....went pear shaped after a month or so!

I am, from today, going to make a concerted effort to save right up to crimbo. What do most of you put in, just coppers, or everything 20p and under??

I'm in the same boat as you in that I don't have a great deal of spare money, so I tend to just put in any money that ' comes my way', as opposed to 'spare' money. So I tend to rely on roadkill (money found on the ground), or money that I can get from recycling. Just sometimes if I'm feeling flush I'll try and put something in if I haven't been able to for a while. There certainly isn't going to be a great deal in there when I empty my pot and add it up.

For me this thread isn't a competition, it's about the taking part and the friendliness and the familiarity of the people on here, they're a great bunch, and so in reading this thread even if I only put 1p in the pot it's 1p more than I would have done. MrT's motto is used a lot on this thread, "Every little helps", lol.

So, don't worry about how much you're putting in the pot, just find your comfort zone, and enjoy the ride.

It's good to have you back.:T

Kerfuffle - well said and i second you, how ever much you save is not important, I think that getting into the routine of putting something in the pot on as much of a regular basis as possible is more important than how much cos you get into the mind set of saving rather than concentrating on how much [hope that makes sense][it does in my world lol]

Bit more in the pot today

    Have a nice evening everyone

    Hi Stunty
ok, I'm a bloke and a bit thick. Why have we been moved??? Took me ages to find the place!!

I don't know, as I subscribe to the thread I don't need to search so I wouldn't have known we'd been moved if nobody had said anything. As I understand it Sue-UU is opposing the move as we're not a diary, and we are a support thread for any DFW's so I totally agree with her, fingers crossed normal service will be resumed shortly. :D

[QUOTE Hope Sparkys not causing chaos in Shropshire...... my coppers discrection doesnt extend that far.[/QUOTE]

That leaves me up the proverbial creek then :rotfl:

I hope you get loads of roadkill again tomorrow Stunty, are you splitting the proceeds again, or is it all yours mwah ah ah (that's an evil laugh by the way).

It's good to get away for a weekend, it's amazing how much you can fit in sometimes, I hope you come back all refreshed having enjoyed yourself and letting your hair down. If there are any chandeliers about just check the support brackets before you jump on eh. :rotfl:
