Well, that's a load off my mind. OH has just received some relocation money (expenses) and also had a little emergency savings fund (like you SavingH) so we have paid off the RBS credit card. That was his debt so it doesn't come off the Paper Hat figure but is brilliant nonetheless.

Our new aim is to have the Virgin card paid off by Xmas 2009 ans then we are going to save 3 months of my wages (before the baby comes) so we have a pot of savings as I only get paid 90% of my earnings for 6 weeks and then Stautory Maternity Pay. It is still a pain having the loan coming out every month but I think it is better to have a lump sum saved that we can dip into rather than overpaying the loan and only £50 knocked off it per month.

    What do people think?

Tirl pleased re the balance transfer

CAFCgirl understand why you made the decision about the job - and best of luck for OH

CMD - I'm guessing it will be a girl

The interview I went to Monday want me to go back for a second interview this Monday coming. My sis worked there about 3 years ago and she is saying don't go but a lot of the management has changed since then so I am hoping it won't be as bad as she makes out. If it is - and I get the job - she will be saying I told you so forever! I was really worried about the hours of the job - but they have provisionally agreed to let me finish lunchtime Friday (for less money) but that would help compensate a bit for the late nights and early starts during the week. It's approx 10 months the job - so its not like a forever commitment! I just hope that if I do take it it turns out okay

  • Hi

Sorry have been AWOL for a bit.

CMD - Lovely scan picture, I loved my 20 week scan pic of Stephanie (DD1) it was really clear, Lexie's (DD2) she looked like she had really big lips and they weren't as good.

CAFC - Glad to have you back, hope you had a great time.

CMD - what a lovely picture. baby is so clear. you must be really pleased. i've still got Seren's framed! that's bad considering she's 2 next week.

i had my interview today. the guy who told me it was his job last week pulled out then re submitted his application this afternoon. surely that's not fair! they said i would find out by tuesday but i'm not holding my breath. i really want the job but knowing that this guy has had an interview (i was pleased when i found out he's pulled out) i'm feeling deflated all over again. and they told him i'd applied and he's told other staff. why would they tell him? hopefully saying i'm his competition but i doubt it. so feeling a bit down and stressing about it all over again.

how is everyone else this evening?

CMD - the savings sound great.... and paying debt off

Starnac - sorry things didn't go so well today - with the guy pulling out and then coming back in. It is poor practice that they gossiped about who applied....

i thought that myself. surely they shouldn't be discussing who else applied especially as it's an internal thing and the ones who don't get it would be working under the one who did.
