Was your OH not much help TooMuch?

You have 3 girls don't you? I can't remember their names but remember they were beautiful and girlie names.

With DD1 I was taken into hospital on the Monday and was induced on Friday night, it was June 2004 and the World Cup (football) was on TV so he used to visit me between games, so if England were playing in the evening he would come and visit me straight after work, if they were playing in the afternoon he would come and visit me in the evening. On the day she was born I rang him up in the morning at 9am as I had more gel to start labour off, he told me he would be in at the same time that he normally came in, so late afternoon or evening, I hung up on him, I went into labour at 11am, it was horrible as I was on my own, they had to ring him up about 12am and tell him to come in as I told them I wasn't doing it. He came in and she was born at 3.08pm, so he would have missed it if he had come in at the normal time.

DD2 he wasn't too bad but he had no sympathy for me being in so much pain, took the p out of me using the gas and air, I had an epidural as soon as I was able to which was great. DD2 was the best labour experience.

DD3 he wasn't much comfort either, he doesn't get ill or anything and thinks I was making too much fuss, he tries to joke about everything which is not what you want.

My girls are called Stephanie, Lexie and Alisha.

It's no wonder you would have preferred your Mum there. Maybe he just isn't great in situations like that???

I knew your little ones had gorgeous names :)

  • Awwww.. .Lexie is my favourite name for a girl... lovely
  • I always loved Lexie too so am glad DD2 is called it, OH didn't like it but it was tough as it was my turn to choose a first name. I chose DD1 and DD3's middle names, DD1 has an Hawaiian middle name as I was mad on Hawaii before she was born, and had just come back from Hawaii the month before we conceived her, it was funny as when she was born I noticed one day after that one of the midwives had the same Hawaiian name, how spooky is that!!!
