CMD - I love the cot hun!!! Really sweet, all of it is perfect for unisex baby£80 for a stand and bedding though.... Ive been really lucky my mum has been picking up bits and pieces and they bought our cot (ebay), got given a moses basket, got some clothes (freecycle) and have bought our pram, otherwise i dont know what we'd be doing.
DH and I were in primark earlier as well pricing up sleepsuits etc, which all seemed pretty reasonable. I'd love to be able to spend in places like Mothercare etc but its just not gonna be do-able for us, and I keep telling myself that the baby wont know or care, least i hope not :rotfl:
Just really need to hear some good news tomorrow at C A B, feeling a bit lacking again, but so so glad I get to see my puppy this weekend :A
Glad the toothache is getting better
You are so lucky that you can get things from people. Because my family are in Ireland I can't get stuff like moses basket etc. None of our friends over here are at the baby stage yet - well one couple are but the baby is due 2 days before us so we can't get anything from them.
I got the majority of sleepsuits and vests from Penneys in Ireland (Primark over here). They have some lovely baby clothes and I stocked up when I was home for Xmas. I like a bit of mix and match and I can't believe some of the prices places charge for vests etc. I was really chuffed as part of a set in Penneys one of the vest says 'Mammy's little star'. We say Mammy in Ireland rather than Mummy so I was loving it. They also have scratch mittens for 50p and I think that is great value. I got some stuff in Boots as well, but got them for nothing as I had been saving up my points from before Xmas.Total (Aug 19):€58,567 Now:€26,947

i have a friend who prays for me,bless her, might need to ask her to increase them lol
the power of prayer is very strong. although you have to remember what you want for your life is not necessarily what God wants for you so although it may seem like it didn't work God is still there with you. For example. DH went for an interview in December at the same place he just got this job for a trainee position. he was way overqualified but he desperatly wanted a job. so everyone at church and the two of us prayed every day. he had the interview and was turned down. we were gutted. seemed like the prayers hadn't worked. a week later a coaches job comes up which is exactly what he does. he had the interview yesterday and got the job.
He was turned down for the trainee job cos it was God's will for him to have the coaches job instead. so although at the time it felt like the prayers were a waste of time it was just not meant to be at that time.
you just need to be patient and what is meant to be for you will happen. never underestimate the power of prayer and never give up x

CMD - what i did was take 4 weeks of annual leave right at the end of my mat leave giving me an extra month off with pay. that worked well for us. i would defo agree with doodles though. use your leave at the beginning (before baby) to rest as much as possible. everyone says that your life will change after having a baby but you never realise just how much til your own baby comes. i wish i had rested more before DD arrived instead of trying to do everything just cos i didn't have to go to work.
good news here in the starnac household. DH got the job he interviewed for yesterday. it's the job he really wanted and we can really start busting the debts and saving for a deposit now with the extra wage coming in. we are so pleased. :j
Starnac - that us fantastic news. I am so pleased for you. You can really make a dent in the debts nowTotal (Aug 19):€58,567 Now:€26,947

when DD was born we lived in manchester and everything said mummy on it which i don't like. so we've got things with daddy's little star etc on it but nothing with mammy. although my auntie bought us a sleepsuit which said "50% welsh, 50% english, 100% gorgeous" which i lovedGoals for FebruaryDeclutter 2/50Money Made £0/£200Overpayments £0/£2000
