Afternoon all..I went shopping in Lula's favourite shop today (tatco) and had a lovely time shopping from the whoopsie shelf (I did buy some other things that weren't on the whoopsie shelf such as domestos, bread rolls, paxo, juice, fruit, onions, sugar, cabbage) so instead of spag bol for tea tonight it will be roast chicken (I got it for half price and its free range):j - really I want spag bol so am wondering if the chicken which has a use by and display until today will be ok for tomorrow?
Went to greengrocers next door to tatco for spuds and toms on the vine and ended up paying £1.35 but I have a couple of kilos of spuds (proper ones with soil on) and some tomatoes on the vine.0 -
afternoon all,
Horace, could you not freeze the chicken ? - This from the woman who used to eat around the blue fuzzy bits on bread until she discovered long-life bread for only 79p in Waitrose - my real favourite shop

That's just about what ASDA pays me for a whole year. :rotfl:
Seriously, though, I have every sympathy for the bin men and the post men. Too many employers are 'using' the recession to impose cost saving measures, using the threat of the dole queue as a reason for ignoring the process of negotiation.
My own employer is no different - I'll be really glad when my self-employment picks up.I am NOT, nor do I profess to be, a Qualified Debt Adviser. I have made MANY mistakes and have OFTEN been the unwitting victim of the the shamefull tactics of the Financial Industry.
If any of my experiences, or the knowledge that I have gained from those experiences, can help anyone who finds themselves in similar circumstances, then my experiences have not been in vain.

Great shopping Horace and the chicken will be fine until tomorrow, I've used chickens two days after expiry date, just keep it cool :cool:Numpty_Monkey wrote: »(I did buy some other things that weren't on the whoopsie shelf such as domestos, bread rolls, paxo, juice, fruit, onions, sugar, cabbage)

It is getting busy, NB. As far as 'tips' are concerned, we're not (officially) allowed to accept them.
Did get a couple of mince pies last year (one home-made and the other was ASDA  (at least it wasn't 'Smart Price' :rotfl:I am NOT, nor do I profess to be, a Qualified Debt Adviser.
