Hi guys, just wanted to share some news.

Hubby got a letter today from his consultant. It says:-

"I am happy to report that the recent specimines taken from your throat has shown significant treatment changes only but no evidence of vaiable cancer.

We will review you in the joint clinic on Tuesday.

It is important to appreciate that although these results are very reassuring, we will have to keep a very close eye on your progress"

He was diagnosed with throat cancer back in January and went throught 8 weeks of strong treatment which ended on 1st May. And weve waited since then for some news

Dare we share a quiet "whoop! whoop! whoop!" together?

Ladygrim-:j:j:j:j:j:jwoohoo great news for you both
You know your getting old when you
go to the pub sit outside
and admire the hanging basket
    Is officially 48% tight :D
  • Afternoon all

    Ladygrim sounds like good news.

Hope everyone is ok, have read the thread and forgotten everything. I sympathise with everyone who have small children who wake them up. I am so grateful DS is older and only wakes me up when he's ill.

Have taken DS to judo this morning. Lovely sunny, windy day here so the washing I put out this morning is dry:D. Have been to Aldi and bought a few bits. Have managed to resurrect my freecycle membership, so am looking forward to de-cluttering when DS goes back to school and getting rid of some stuff.

Off to the gym in a mo. Having chicken kebabs, rice and salad for tea.

    Have a good day all.

    Ladygrim - great news
MSD - and I thought you just had an exceptional memory! Thanks for letting me know you open up wordpad, might give that a go.
NPM - you sound so patient. I can tell you love your DS to bits, but he does sound like very hard work, and you sound like you cope admirably!
Pen Pin - I couldn't see the pic of your doggy either?

Welcome to newbies, apologies to anyone missed etc etc!

Used my £5 Lidl in tesco this morning, as they accept other competitors spend and save. Have another one to use at a different tesco later. Stocked up on some new clothes, and some fruit shoots to take away to Butlins next week - don't want to be paying out for drinks for the kids!

Washing machine has been on, and have some ironing to do later for holiday, and also some tidying up. Not a very exciting day, but looking forward to next week.

    Good afternoon chums
Ladygrim I am so pleased for you and your OH I know how worrying it can be, I shall raise a glass of my favorite G&T tonight for you both .I am a bit hampered at the moment with my splinted up arm but I still can use the other one o.k.
my eldest DD came round at lunchtime and bless her hung my washing out for me and changed the bed and took all the sheets ect off to her house to stick in the washer ,after telling me off for doing a couple of washloads already.I don't know about the rest of you but as soon as I'm home from my holidays I like to get the washing on and out of the way.I went up to Mr T last night and managed to bag quite a few bargains in the fruit and veg dept.I must have just got there at the right time . All the shopping is done and dusted so I can put my feet up and relax for a few days and catch up on the lost t.v. programmes I missed whilst away.We had freeview and t.v. at the cottage but when the children are all together we prefer to play cards and board games in the evening as it keeps them amused and t.v. is really for when your at home and not on holiday. Its nice to go away, but there's nothing like your own bed is there. i shall spend the next few days just pottering about and trying to declutter a bit .
Hope everyone has a brilliant weekend and the sun shines down on whatever you all get up to
    Take care all

P.S. one of my DGD's got her results on Thursday and was delighted to get 11 out of 12 and one of them was an 'A' and she is not a natural scholar, she has had to work so hard, and I'm very proud of her.The other one won't get hers until Tuesday as the soppy date forgot to give the school a stamped addressed envelope as she was on holiday with us, so she is still crossing her fingers atm

To be frugal, you need to spend money wisely, simply spending less is not enough.

What else can I do with 1lb of mince that doesn't require potatoes, beans or pasta 'cos we had that for lunch yesterday? To feed 5? Any ideas?[/QUOTE]

Thriftlady THIS looks nice ( bear in mind the recipe makes 16 portions!)

have done all the washing today and its almost all dry (4 loads) my new resolution is to do less ironing and so far I have only 4 things that definitely need doing :D

made the biryani from economy gastronomy for lunch ( minus the chicken) and had HM bread and butter , it was lovely I used chicken stock instead of water for the rice though .

PP I cant see your doggie either
