  • Good morning everyone  DH has taken DS to swim club (DD is sleeping out) so I'm back in the kitchen :T I've turned the offcuts of last night's Berkshire pigs' liver into pate for lunch, and made the rest of the Berkshire bacon into a big batch of pasta sauce for the freezer. I made granola yesterday, using up small quantities of leftovers in my baking cupboard ;) What's the betting that my family say it's just perfect, and ask me to repeat the recipe

We're having HM chicken curry and HG salad for supper.

Need to tidy the kitchen :o

    Enjoy your weekends, Penny. x

Bitsy you have my sympathies...I am beginning to wonder if DS will ever sleep late:rolleyes:. Glad your DH is having the kids while you have a mooch in the shop....I love stationary too....just got a Life Book from Organised Mum and cant wait to fill it in:o sad or what.
MSD thanks for the compliment but I just do my best really....bet a few on here will be jealous of Barrowman..he isnt my cup of tea to be honest:rolleyes:..can you not get there to meet him too if someone helped?
Molly I used to have 3 guinea pigs and have been there with the syringe feeding...I loved them to bits and miss them
Well DS already driving me mad pestering fatcat and her hissing at him:cool:
He has a party this afternoon at a boys house from school...not sure how it will go but have said we will have a walk up there and give him his present and if DS cant cope I have told him not to worry we can just come home again.
This long holiday has been a bit of a nightmare really.....I love the idea of spending time with DS and doing things together but in reality it just doesnt work out. It is a good job I am nearing the end as I am at my wits end now....I feel like I could be in the Pedro Almodovar film " women on the verge of a nervous breakdown":rotfl:
Am going to see if he will do some tidying with me today and maybe make more buns. He is too hyper to go to library which was my plan....cant be doing with the stress of chasing him round the library while he sings michael jackson songs and "hee hee`s" at people:o
Have promised fish and chips for tea as he loves a whole fish to himself:rotfl:so no cooking today...doing lamb shanks tomorrow and cant wait.
well best go and get DS under control.
    have a good day all

    Morning :hello:
    Congratulatons to Miss Penguin :T

I cancelled nearly all OSing yesterday, I still did a bit of housework though ;) I decided it would work out too expensive - I woke up, put the kettle on and dropped all the coffee into the sugar. Then I took a yogurt out of the fridge and dropped it - how can the contents of one little pot spread soooooooooo much? That was that, no more touching food for the rest of the day :D I swept the carpets though, it makes the pile stand up again - does a better job of it than the vacuum cleaner.

We're planning on extending the veg patch again. We also need to clear out the sheds (we have two) to see if we can convert one of them into a chicken house. If not (read that as - 'if mr tru refuses to get rid of all the junk', lol) then we'll build/buy a new one.

Another roving reporter here, just popping on to say hi, weather held well for DH's 60th Bday BBQ on Thursday, and repeating it again tonight, so keeping fingers crossed for a repeat. He got some surprises by old friends turning up "unexepectedly" ;). A few more lined up for tonight. Back from the rally Monday night so will catch up with a the thread then.

Very OS, friends all joining in preparing pasta, rice, salads to go with BBQ and local butchers burgers and sausages are good.
Catch you soon - take care - DG

    Hi Guys!

Have had another rough couple of days but am okay. Thanks for all the lovely messages.

OH popped to Lidl this morning to grab some of the Charmin (24 rolls for £5.99) as we had a £5 off a £30 spend, so grabbed 120 rolls for £25 and a few other bits:j:j:j

This week I have spent indoors again really but have been clearing through the clutter and OH burnt alot of paperwork that was out of date and needed to be detsroyed. Have recycled loads to a couple of people I already know on freecycle and saved me advertising everything and getting loads of emails.

DD has done me a freezer inventory, so we know exactly what we have in and have planned a 6 week mealplan:eek::eek::eek: OH has cut back the fig tree which has produced loads this year and we managed to find some mint and broke some off to try and grow in the garden....any ideas?

Our little boy is growing up quickly and already weighs 5kg and he's only 14 weeks old:eek::eek::eek:...full size they are 10-12kg apparently. Here is a picture of him yesterday with his new "bruno" scarf:D

    His paws are massive!

Hope everyone is well as I havent been reading all the threads.

    Hugs to all.

    Good morning,

Bitsy I feel your pain. Ds woke at 5:25 and shouted me nearly every 3 minutes or so until his light came on at 6:00am. I have explained to him that he must not get up until his light comes on. I am looking at it as the 4 year old version of the controlled crying thing, so after replying to the 1st shout and telling him to go back to sleep so he knew he hadn't been abandoned, I ignored him.

I was letting him get up at 5:15 etc, and giving him milk and a biscuit, but my friend pointed out that I am actually rewarding his early waking, so we're on day 2 of not getting out of bed until he's supposed to. Parenting is so complicated.

I am sitting with the Bero book in front of me. I have joined the grocery challenge, and will be revisiting all of the things that I used to make such as scones, cheese scones and scotch pancakes (drop scones to some of you). Ds seemed a bit disbelieving when I told him we could make scotch pancakes instead of buying them in a packet. Bad mummy moment!

    Take care all of you
