Really? Well I might just keep trying every few days with a low bid, when is the best time to start with serious bidding, i.e. how long before I actually go away?

I don't believe you asked that!

As I know you've seen this thread :D

How many days are you trying to book?

    IMHO
Ask for a strategy from thereuare on betterbidding, he'll sort you out;)

The 7 days may be a problem as the hotel rates may not be constant throughout.

Too early yet though to be splitting the bid.

Do NOT Miss Dead Horse State Point in the Islands in the Sky district.

It will TRULY blow you away!

Also the Grand View Point in this district too

Agreed on Canyonlands and the right-next-door Arches National Park. Moab is the perfect place to stop off to travel around the area and is "home" to excellent slick rock mountainbiking and river rafting. (anyone into Indiana Jones, will immediately recognise the Arches National Park as being the setting of the first five minutes from the third film)

If you have been to Dead Horse State Park, Peter Lik has a tremendous picture of the arch looking down into the valley in his gallery in the Forum shops at Caesars. Other pictures of his are also superb ..."ghosts" (Antelope Canyon) for example. Pictures from all over the USA and further afield.

The Luxor NO THANK YOU looks and feels like a 90,s showcase cinema (not a good thing) i,ll admit i,d didn,t stay there but a spent a long time time in there ( not through choice , long story , thanks to virgin holidays muck up).

we stayed in New York New York and it wasn,t great IT WAS ABSOLUTLY FANTASTIC !!!!!! the rooms, the bed ( best ever on any holiday actually resented my own bed when i got back) the service , the attention to detail, the whole place is MUST see if your going but i really would reccomend it very highly. i never go ANYWHERE without reading a Rough Guide travel book for the place and it reccomended NY NY and yet again they didn,t let me down.

    money saving tips

    1) if your up for a show check out the two half price tickets for tonight box offices first you wont get blue man group ,celine dion , or O but we saw Mamma Mia , Avenue Q , Rita Rudner, Amazing Johnathan ( reccomeneded if you know what to expect) all for half price.

    2) get all the free magazines you can from taxis and hotel lobbys they crammed full of discount vouchers for just about EVEYTHING

    3) "THE DEUCE" bus service is by far the cheapest way to travel but it can busy near treasure island , ceasers palace area during peak time meaning the don,t let you on, but at $5 for all day pass it,s very good value. and pretty good

    4) get married . WE DID at the World famous Little White Wedding Chapel. they even broadcast it over the net for the folks back home. no offence but if you want to spend £10,000 + thats your choice , but our wedding was at the most famous place to get hitched of them all thanks to TV show Friends, We didn,t spend months organizing it and YEARS paying for it , oh we got a free limo down the strip afterwards and then took a helicopeter ride in the Grand Canyon......BEAT THAT FOR £500 quid !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! not special you say, Not Lunacy money i reply and we had a BRILLIANT day !!!!
    :money:   :j

    5) HAVE FUN it almost imposible not to i would say. VIVA LAS VEGAS
Better in my pocket than theirs :rotfl:

I agree I stayed there last month and it was fantastic. Was going to book Luxor becuase it was so cheap but it had got really bad reviews recently and people we knew were adamant we didn't stay there from experience. Glad we listened to them!
