    Hi all,

    Been lurking but not much to say either.

    Ebbs, well done on reducing your limit, but watch you don't end up over the limit with interest or anything! I reduced mines once to £300 (in the days where I actually was sensible with my CC, only to have my AA annual payment go on, taking me over the limit! I was charged and they refused to refund me, even though had had the card for 10 frickin years, barstewards! I cancelled it but have since swallowed my pride and got another one from them last week, ha!

    Oh no this happenned to me once before and I'd like to think I've learned from it. I waited till I had my statement this month before doing it and also I pay my credit card before it's due anyway - always have (although the amount is variable :o) but thank you for the very valid warning. Banks really are barstewards aren't they.

    I heard a while ago that tesc0 were planning on opening one? I'd move there!
    End of 2010 I was £8,007.66 in debt :(
    Today's total: £7,297.06 :o

    I know. I know. It was made to measure though and delivered. I just couldn't afford to have it framed as well that would have been another £34 :eek: (which was actually a discount)

    I'll do that another time.

    Afternoon ladies

    Ebs - sounds like you're doing really well with your new resolve honey, well done. I think it's natural to learn of a new wage and start spending like you already earn it! Obviously not practical but understandable. Good luck this weekend with all your listings. I need to list some stuff on ebay but I just can't be a*sed lugging everything to the Post Office!! :o

    Laura - I love the idea of your website. I'm all for people doing different things to create interest in their lives and make money. I love Monkey's website, it's brilliant. Go for it love!

    Poppy - I'm loving your spontaneity, that's fantastic! Holiday romance and a whirlwind wedding. So romantic!

    Well I've just spent a thoroughly depressing morning at the Job Centre with a stonking hangover (I have the shiny skin and red eyes of a proper wine binge!). The staff I met initially were typically gruff and unhelpful and I felt like crying when I couldn't even find the stairs to get to the right office. The next couple I met were OK though and it seemed to be alright. Got to go back next Thursday then every other Thursday after that. Meh. Hopefully I'll have a job before I become dependent on this but best to be prepared I guess. Although to be honest, how I'm meant to live on £60 a week paying rent, bills, travel and food I've no idea. How do people do it? My friend last night said I'd be better off getting myself knocked up and getting benefits so if things don't go well I might start trawling Brixton for a baby-daddy!!
    Meant to be out again tonight in Soho but can't be bothered. All I want to do is hide and watch rubbish TV. Oh well, best foot forward and all that!

    I miss RR.

  • Rubes, sorry to see you had a miserable time at the job centre, but at least you've done it now. I would think you'll probably get more than that, because you're single and you don't have any savings or anything, would think you'd get some housing benefit as well. Whereas, if you were living as a couple, they base it on your income as a couple, so like when I was unemplyed when I first came here, I wasn't eligable for anything, as they said that seeing as I had a partner, they deemed his wage to be enough to pay for me too. Nice. So hopefully if it comes to it you might get a bit towards your rent and council tax as well as the JSA.

    Right- it's done! That Halifax card is gone gone gone! :j:j And total paid off is now over £2000. It's only about 5 months sice I came on here saying 'finally paid over £1000 off!'

    To celebrate I have bought myself a new bead for my pandora bracelet. Cost = £20 (had room for it in budget! :D) Represents 1% of the £2000 I have paid off.

    Anyways, time for happy dance;
