Monkey: That was clever I tried it and it worked!

Is there no stopping me? I am teaching myself Excell Spreedsheets 1 as well this week! Being very MSE and using the course material OH used years ago, when I've mastered it I'll go along to our learning centre and pay some dosh and get me a certificate. Couldn't do a course due to work any other way, so where there's a will etc.;););)

  • ooh, well done RM, you'll be a technical wizzard in no time!

I can't believe it, BF has just rung me to say he thinks he's gonna get put on disciplinary tomorrow, because of something that someone else did which they shouldn't have done. They're saying that because he's a supervisor, it's his fault, because he should have told her not to do it. How can you possibly know what someone is going to do, and therefore how can you tell them not to do it?! It's so unfair, they try to pin the blame for everything on him - to be honest, they treat him like cr*p half the time in my opinion. I'm just so cross. Beside's the fact that he's having to stay late even though he went in early, because the AM can't stay late 'cos he lives further away or something. Er..I'm sorry, but isn't extra responsibilty why you get paid more to be an AM??
much work to be done - new sig coming soon...

  • That's really rubbish Monkey, and it sounds like bullying. I think your BF should write a list of all things like that that happen and when, just in case, so that he has a record of it...
;) Working hard in the hopes of being 'lucky' ;)

    Hello all!
Was busy at work today so couldn't get on- did manage to lurk a little and read a few posts but no time to write!

Anyhoo- I would like to join the recipe club but as I am on a diet I will make a 'diet' version and let you all knows how that goes :D

    Hmm- what else has happened?

Rubes- just pick any book you already have that you think was good... don't buy anything new! It is an MSE book club after all! :rotfl:

    Errr.. can't think...

RM- bless dotty old lady. It's a bit sad really :( What is this Vim (?) stuff anyway?

Fuzz- liking the use of the word cowbag :rotfl:

Monkey- hope everything is ok with OH. Maybe it will just be a chat rather than a formal disciplinary  Fingers crossed..

And errr, I think that's it..

Isn't it princess' birthday tomorrow or saturday? Where has she been recently? Hope she's ok..

I have used a lot of :confused: is this post! :rotfl:

Recipe 1: Tagliatelle alla carbonara with Prosciutto- From James Martin Saturday Kitchen Best Bites

    Serves 4

    1 tbspextra virgin olive oil
300g prosciutto slices cut into strips
    100g unsalted butter
    150ml white wine
    6 egg yolks
50g parmasan grated finely plus a bit for on top
    50g pecorino cheese grated finely
    350g egg tagliatelle

    1. Heat Olive oil and add 2 thirds of prosciutto and fry 1 min
    2. Add half the butter and all the wine, simmer 3 mins
3.In another bowl mix egg yolks with both cheeses and add little salt and pepper
    4. Cook tagliatelle until al dente and drain
    5. Add the pasta to prosciutto mix and then stir in egg/cheese mixture. Heat of pasta should cook the egg but put on heat for a min if need to.
    6. Stir in remaining prosciutto and butter and serve with extra cheese on top

Here is my diet version of the recipe:

    Frylight (instead of olive oil)
4 rashers bacon, all visible fat removed (instead of proscuttio)
    3 eggs
Salt and freshly ground black pepper
3 tbsp very low fat natural fromage frais (instead of all the creamy stuff)
2 level tbsp grated Parmesan cheese (less cheese. Big shame :( I looove cheese!)
    Small bunch of chives
    397g/14oz cooked tagliettelli

    1. Roughly chop the bacon and fry in a non-stick pan for 2-3 minutes using a couple of sprays of Fry-light. Set aside
    2. Lightly beat the eggs, season to taste and add the fromage frais and 1 tbsp of Parmesan. Chop the chives and add to the mixture, reserving some for garnish.
    3. Add the tagliettelli and egg mixture to the bacon in the pan and stir gently over a low heat until the egg starts to set.
    4. Serve sprinkled with the remaining Parmesan and chives

So I will give this a go and let you alls know. (ps I didn't make this up on the spot I already had this recipe just never made it!)

Well- night all! Apparantly I have to go interact with my OH in the real world! :rotfl:
  • My baby Molly is missing:cry:

Not seen her since last night. She is not the type of cat to go off for long, she is such a home cat. We have searched all day, knocked on all the doors in our road to ask to check sheds etc.

I'm going out my mind, she is my baby and daisy is crying for her.

I can't stop crying. Just want her to come home:sad:

Don't worry Tilly- I'm sure she'll come back. Harold occasionally goes on a little walkabout and it panics me everytime he does it- was gone 3 days once!! Usually doesn't go much further than our street!

    Morning All,
Won't be on much today. Work this morning, then grocery shopping (after holidays Mrs Hubbard has moved in), then BIL is going to look at my ccbut there again he's not that way inclined generally, so fingers crossed.

Hope every one has a good day. Where is Princess?
