Evening everyone -hello to all the new folks
I have another NSD under my belt (mind no-where opens here on a Sunday -so that wasn't difficult) -so Im up to 16 NSDs out of a possible 19 :j
Had a fairly productive weekend -made several dishes for the freezer for hubby to eat in my absence -a bonus as I have been using up random things from the freezer (2 packs boneless/skinless chicken breasts for a start)don't know why I got them *ok they were whoopsed*:pas I prefer whole chicken, and random things in the cupboards -So I now have:-
- game casserole X 4
- minced pork with leeks n carrots in gravy X 4
- liver casserole x 3
- Thai chicken curry X 4
- chicken n leek pies X 5
I will be nipping for some bits tomorrow as hubby is away from tuesday a.m to saturday a.m ...although its mainly a couple of packs of minced beef I want so I can make some chilli to freeze....
Think that I just need to do the chilli, sausage casserols, fish pies and then make some pasties -then I just need to make some Grater bakes and some "bakewells" then thats everything done and dusted ...oh and I need to make pizzas -oh and the baguettes for hubbies lunches :rotfl:
I have been pondering about when I go in hospital -and NOT spending a small fortune on "tat and junk" -so, I will be :-- getting a couple of bottles of SF dilute to take in -they provide still and sparkling water -and this is what I drink most -but I can make my own pop -and save the €1 a time for coke
- hubby will be bringing me fruit and salad in every evening -they don't DO salad like us brits are used to
and I can't go without fruit
- Im making extra bakes n cakes -so hubby can bring me pieces in from the freezer -NO buying their cherry frangepan pastries at €1.20 each
...although Im sure I will have an occasional "treat"....
right time for bed..have a good week everyone :T-6 -8 -3 -1.5 -2.5 -3 -1.5-3.50 -

Hi all!
Managed a NSD due to it being a Sunday and I persuaded my OH to have toast rather than cereal so he didn't need to go to the shops and end up coming back with 3 other things plus the milk!!
Mrs M - you sound so organised, I am really impressed!
toonie - I happen to have THIS link to a lardy cake recipe which I am going to try this week some time.
rc01 - welcome to the thread
Have another Approved foods order coming tomorrow to add to my total and my OH is writing down all he has spent too so I anticipate a large bump in the total within the next couple of days!

When I saw the mention of Trex I immediately thought of 'Lard' - which then turned to the 'Lardy Cake' my paternal Grandmother used to make when I was a loooot younger - and I started to drooooooool.
Decided I was going to have to look out a recipe for Christmas time - purely 'cos that's when I'll see more of the family (including my Dad) to share it with, meaning not so many inches on my non-existant waist-line :rotfl:Cheryl0 -
Methinks I've totally lost the plot! How on earth did I ever imagine four adults+2 pets surviving on £220 per month :doh:I've already got through £109:48 & that's with being careful  Hate to think what it would be like if I wasn't watching the pennies _pale_
I'll be trying out the MrT version of water filter cartridges so do hope they'll be OK, [Stoopeedo here bought a box of three cuz they look the same in the picture] at £5:50 are half the price of the branded ones. I would have needed some soon & only got them now cuz of the silly vouchers in the paper last weekend, & then they are not classed as 'household' apparently  I do wish they would make categories clearer on these things! Yes I know I could have put them back, but like I said..I'll need them soon enough to not warrant the hassle.
--*ahem*--*draws circle on carpet with big toe & giggles sheepishly*--I've just checked the date & we're virtually half way through this month so I'm bang on target then int-oi:j

Hellooo again, I've been very slack with the reading/catching up but it's for a very good reason...honest!:o
I'm spending most hours DIYing, still got 10 lattice fence panels to stain and the rest of the shed at the same time as preping the spare room ready 4 wallpaper!!
I've managed a couple of NSD (mainly coz I've had my head in a tin of paint) and done well when I've gone shopping.
Since moving here I've made most meals from scratch (including a yummy apple & blackberry crumble!!):D
Will update sig asap
Thanks to those who put in so much work to make it easier for everyone else xxxx Its very much appreciated :T"There's a little witch in all of us"🔮🪬🧿DEBT FREE 06/2018Mrs SD’s Decluttering 2025 ⭐️ 🥇🥇0 -
Definitely lots of NSDays for me for the next week as I blew the budget a little last Friday so have to catch up on myself.Still don't need anything as I'm fully stocked up with fruit & veg and have enough bread and milk stashed so its eat out of the freezer/storecupboards this week.Yesterday I managed to get four very decent sized portions of chicken curry out of my left over chicken as I bulked it out with extra mushrooms & tomato's.
So from my £2.00 little chicken that I cooked overnight in my SC I have managed 8 portions/meals which cost out at 25p per meal plus veggies/rice so I am very pleased with myself. Tonight I have sausage & mash and onion gravy with some carrots & peas, plus I have some dried prunes in the cupboard so I am going to have prunes and custard for pudding. I also redid my freezer list and find that I have at least three to four weeks worth of meals in there,so I'm staying away from the shops for awhile. We are doing so well all of us this month and we are half way through almost already.Well done chums
